Chapter 22- The Next Page

She didn't care about him anymore by the time she arrived back at home. Truth was she felt that the DOORMAN cared about her more than he did, and that must've been a huge let down. Not only did that boy just humiliate her, but he also broke her heart in the process. It had nearly taken decades for her to finally realize her true feelings for him, she had just been at the point where she was prepared and ready to open up about this. But, it didn't play out at all like she would have planned.

And although it sounded kinda catastrophic, she didn't feel anywhere close to that. Honestly, she was numb.. And to become even more truthful, she had been numb this entire time.. But this time, she was number than ever. On the outside, she was absolutely fine and nothing would have seemed off about her, but in reality, that was all just a crumby act.

She wasn't fine at all, in fact, she didn't even know how to process anything that was going on around her, for it had all been flashing in her eyes much to quickly for her grasp onto any of it. Everything was going too fast; Much too fast.

And poor Kori couldn't keep up, no matter how much she tried. She just could not keep up with reality.

With one hand tied around his waist and the other placed upon his bare chest, she released herself from the long and powerful kiss to catch a breath. She tried to fall back into the kiss, to just let herself go..but she couldn't. She was with the wrong man. It just didn't feel right.

"D-Did I do something wrong?" He asked nervously while combing hand through his messy hair.

"N-no.." She muttered softly as she rose from his lap, "It has nothing to do with you.."

He witnessed her stepping into the corner of the room where she lifted her white blouse and carefully buttoned it all the way to the top.

"Where are you going?" The boy questioned.

"...Home," She finally spoke before exiting into the hall where she exited his house immediately, scolding her self uncontrollably as she descended down the staircase. Tons and tons of questions piled up in her mind as she found herself speeding towards the front doors. It all felt like it was going in slow motion..just like it did in the movies.

How did she get here? What in the world was she doing...here?

Before the young redhead had escaped to Kirk's home, she didn't know where she was. Or what she was doing. All in all, she didn't even feel like she was there. She escaped to his place and dove into his arms much too easily, and it all felt like it wasn't even happening. Could it even be possible that she was dreaming?

Once she pinched herself on the arm, she knew it couldn't be. This was reality.

Wake up Kori, she silently shouted over and over. And soon before she knew it, she was awake...In a king sized bed, buried in navy blue sheets and swaddled up in a thick blanket. Beside her, lied Dick Grayson.

The Dick Grayson..

She instantly shot up panting heavily and trying to catch her breath.

"Dick! Dick!" She shouted as she turned over and shook him repeatedly until she saw him awakening, "Wake up!!"

"What?" He mumbled tiredly while barely opening his eyelids halfway.

"I just had a terrible nightmare!" She explained as she nuzzled her face by his neck, tears slowly dripping down from her wide emerald green eyes, "I was abducted by Aliens, you were with that ginger haired girl from science class back in high school, the one who always used to hit on you, Karen and Rachel turned drunk and decided to kiss, Vic got Gar, Rachel, Karen and himself into a terrible car accident where they traveled around with nothing for days, I let this weirdo guy paint a nude of me, this creepy doorman kept hitting on me, and you were with another girl whom was an obnoxious little brat!"

"Woah...d-don't worry. It was all just a nightmare," he responded in a gentle tone as he stroked her softly along the back, "It was just a nightmare.."

"H-how do you know?!" She panicked while breaking from his embrace and throwing herself to her side of the bed, "It all seemed incredibly real to me.."

"Because," he whispered softly as he swept a hand through his smooth jet black hair. Facing towards the girl of his dreams, he scooted beside her and placed a sweet kiss on her cheek, "This is reality."

Was it though?

Hey everyone! I am really sorry that this part was so dang short, but at least I finally managed to update this story! The reason why it's so short is because I really wanted to get an update for this book out as soon as possible, and it was already minutes to midnight by the time I published this chapter. I literally just wrote this chapter from beginning to end within this hour. So yeah, that's the reason! lol
