Warning: this is an emotional chapter, may be sad or happy but sad mostly. I wrote this bit because I was bored :P.

She ran out of the gym in a hurry, ignoring all the people who called to her.

A boy ran after, following through the pouring rain. She slowly started to slow down, he grabbed her by the wrist and pulled her to him.

"Tell me! Why?" He asked, his voice getting softer to the end. She roughly pulled back and started running, tears silently streaming down her face. Her black gown blending into the night.

The boy was about to run after her again but a hand landed on his shoulder and pulled him back, it was Jeremiah, his best friend.

"Give her time." He slowly nodded his head, the two of them went back to the gym.

She ran all the way to the nearest park, spotting a willow tree on top of the hill, she sat against the trunk as tears streamed down her face.

The one question that brought so many unwanted memories, Why?

She sat there in the silence, only accompanied by the sound of rain crashing on the ground and her tears blending with the rain.

He sat at their table, this was so supposed to be his night, Prom night, He was supposed to enjoy it with the girl he wanted. She was the mysterious one in their group, she talked when she wanted to but mostly listened.

All of them were friends since childhood, they knew each other pretty well but she was always the secretive one in the group.

He didn't expect her to reject him nor did he expect her alcoholic father to show up, nobody did.

"It's been two hours, where is she?" He asked himself, he was starting to get worried, it was already nearing midnight.

"Guys I'm gonna go look for her." He walked out, their friends stared at his retreating figure. They looked at each other, uncertain of what would happen.

He walked around town, trying to find the girl in the black dress. He stumbled to the nearest park, from a distance he could see a shaking figure under a tree. Elise.

He walked up to her and pulled her to him, taking his blazer off and draping it over her shaking figure. He hugged her tighly as sobs racked her body.

She felt someone hug her and a jacket over her body, he recognized him from his cologne. Alphonse.

She started to thrash around in his arms, wiggling around, trying to get free.

"Let me go!" She yelled, she started hitting him.

"Let me go!"

"Let me go!"

"L-let me go-o." Her hits started getting sloppier until she burst out crying again. He hugged her tighter, he hadn't seen her so vulnerable, she was always the strong one, the one who stood up for others. Right now, she was the vulnerable one.

After a while, she calmed down.

"Why?" He asked. "Why don't you want to be with me? I know you want to. So tell me, why?" He looked at her with a pleading look.

"My past." She whispered hoarsely.

"But trust me, I want to be with you too." She said in her mind.

"You remember my sister right? Arielle?" He asked, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. She nodded.

"Before she started to travel as an international psychiatrist, she told me that you can never finish the story if you keep re-reading the last chapter. Do you know what that means El?" He moved so that she sat on his lap.
