Nevaeh's P.O.V.
I was walking 'round and about in the mall, Ange is probably out doing the same thing she does every year, I don't know what though, she never told me.
I saw a jewelry store and walked to it, I loved accessories and this shop seemed new. I decided to get something for Angel. She's not fond of accessories except if they have sentimental value, like that horribly shaped heart necklace she has- don't tell her I said that.
I walked around the little store, there was a lot of things to choose from, then I saw a charm bracelet. Ooh that's perfect! Ange likes things that have value to them, that should be a great Christmas present!
"Miss how much is this bracelet?" I smiled at the sales lady while pointing at the bare bracelet, it didn't have charms yet though.
"40 dirhams." The lady replied, my smile faltered, its a bit pricey, but what the hell? It's Christmas.
"Okay, where are the charms for it?" I faced the sales lady. She beamed at me when she heard I was gonna get it.
"Oh! Thank you! Most people don't buy it, its a bit pricey but it has amazing quality." The lady squealed while leading me to the charms.
"Here are the silver charms and here are the ones with color. Most of them are ten and below." She pointed to a display with carefully handcrafted pieces.
"They're beautiful." I looked at each and every one.
"Thanks, I made most of them." She proudly said.
"They're really pretty, I'll get that one." I pointed towards the paw shaped charm, it had brown accents and a tiny crystal in the middle.
"Okay." She took it out of the diplay case.
"That and that." I pointed to a silver musical note it had fancy accents. And one with an upside down treble cleft and an f-clef, forming a heart.
"Ooh and that." It was a blue and yellow butterfly. I already have four, might as well get five.
"And that." I point to the last one, A white lily, it was one of the reasons we met in the first place. It was a group activity in school, we both saw the Lily and reached down for it but she decided to give it to me, we've been tied to the hip ever since.
"Okay, great choices! I don't wanna make you spend more but there is another bracelet that you can get an engraving on. Just add five." She pointed to one that had a space for a little message.
"That would be awesome, I'll get it!" I squealed excitedly. Ange loved cheesy quotes.
"Okay that's great! What do you want to put on it?" She pulled out all of the things I chose and place the bracelet on what I think is an engraving machine.
I showed her a picture from my phone with a quote.
"People cry not because they're weak
It's because they've been strong for too long"Ange has always been my rock, she's help me through a lot. So I think that's the most fitting.
After the machine finished the engraving she gave everything to me.
"The total is 65 dirhams." She walked over to the cash register and punched everything in.
I handed her a fifty, a ten, and a five. After we talked for a while I left.
I walked to the nearest starbucks, ordered a frappé then sat down. I assembled the bracelet and added its charms in random places, I snickered to myself, Ange has OCD when it comes to the order of things, it'll rile her up if she saw this.
My phone started ringing when I exited starbucks, one call was from my brother and the other from Ange's mom. I decided to answer my brother's first, I was really close with Ange's mom, knowing her she probably just called because she wants a pedicure since Ange doesn't like girly things.
"Yellow?" I asked, I was walking to Virgin, My little brother wanted something from there, might as well get it for Christmas.
"N-nev, P-please c-come here, G-get a c-cab." Drake stuttered to the phone, I froze in my spot, My brother isn't one to stutter, in the back ground I could hear sirens ringing and people shouting.
"W-where are you? What's going on?" I asked, panicked.
"Come to the second street after AV mall." It was all he said before hanging up. The second street? That's where the orphanage is at!
I got on the first cab I saw, when we turned to the street Drake said there were police sirens everywhere and an ambulance.
I ran to my Brother who was in the middle of the cars.
"What's going on?!?" I pulled his arm so that he faced me. He looked so scared, vulnerable and mad at the same time.
"Timmy and Angel. They got into an accident."
That was all I heard before fainting.
