Bestfriends Forever?

Eileen just came home from a doctor's appointment when her best friend Jamie Collins called.

Eileen's P.O.V

"Hi Lee! how are you? you missed school Jordan and I got worried so I called to see of you were okay." Jamie said, concern lacing her voice.

What she said made me remember what had happened back at the clinic..

It was pretty early when my mom woke me up for my doctor's appointment, While we were headed there I couldn't help but feel anxious, what if it was bad news?

After being in the waiting room for nearly two hours, the results finally came, I was wringing my fingers together, what if I don't make it? No! Stop that Eileen! Think Positive! The doctor approached us with a grim expression.

"Sorry about this Eileen but the cancer had spread throughout your body we can't do anything about it anymore." He said with a hopeless voice.

"H-how much more c-can she l-live?" Mom asked, her voice cracking. My baby sister, Eleanor, clung on to me like I would disappear any moment.

"2 weeks"

"LEE! are you still there?"Jamie yelled from the other line, it snapped me out of my reverie.

"Oh yeah I'm still here Jamie" I replied.

"So are you okay or do you want both of us to head over to your house?" She repeated her question.

"About that can you head over to the treehouse I'll meet you guys there" I hung up. How was I suppose to break it to them?

Jamie's P.O.V

While I was walking with my twin, Jordan, I couldn't help but wonder why Lee wanted us to meet her at the tree house? And she hung up on me! She didn't like doing that, she said it was disrespectful. Hopefully nothing was wrong.

When we got to the treehouse we heard crying inside, so we rushed in knowing that it was Eileen.

"Lee!Lee! are you okay? Wait scratch that you're crying of course you're not." Jordan said in slight panic. Wait no scratch that, not slight but full on panicking.

Lee cracked a smile at that. After she calmed down she asked, "Guys if I were to die 2 weeks from now what would you do?"

"Well, mope around probably" I shrugged, slightly confused why she would ask such a bizarre question.

"Me too but I don't think that's what you would want us to do" Jordan chuckled. We knew Lee, she would do anything just so other people would be happy, she's a selfless person.

"Y-you a-aren't gonna d-die are you?" I said, stuttering. I don't know why I thought of that, though I really hope not. It's not possible right?

"Of course she's not!" Jordan exclaimed. I was about to agree with him but Lee looked down sadly, her hands suddenly the most interesting thing.
