Chapter 10: The search

Four days since McKenna was taken.

Its been four days and I feel worser every second. She is all over the news and Internet. We sent out an Amber Alert and put up signs everywhere. I have spent as much time as possible looking for her. Well, the Masquerade that is. I even got her- myself- whatever you call it, to personally talk to the press and send out a reward for anyone that brings her back, alive of coarse. I've beating myself so much about it I think I'm going crazy! David and Melissia keep telling me it's not my fault but I don't care.

It is.

I left her outside.

I wasn't fast enough.

It's all my fault.

I head to school it when I get to the parking lot I turn around and go back home.

Second time this week I skipped.

I just can't face the whole school talking about her. I would just loose it.

Once I get to my apartment I slump in my couch. My phone buzzes and I groan. I pick it up. Restricted number.

What?

"Who is this?" I ask.

"Milky?" I sit up at the sound of McKennas voice.

"McKenna?"

"Milly? Milly! Oh Milly please- oh no! Please no. Stop!" I hear her cry.

"Now you know she is alive.", I hear a deep voice say. "Now you have two weeks to get me nine hundred thousand or she dies."

"Wait wha?" I ask. The voice cuts me off.

"Meet me at the Gensal Grove Bridge in two weeks from today at 3 sharp. Bring the money. Come alone."

"Wait, that's so long from now!" I protest.

"Be there." The line goes dead.

Two weeks is too long to wait. I'll get the money but try to find her before that. I will find her and I will put away the jerk that took her.

Well I shouldn't I, I mean

The Masquerade.

Dun dun dun! Last chapter. Had to. Sorry! I'll finish the search in the next book. I was going to callit Fixed but now I'm not sure. It's going to be called like Different or something like that. Love yall!!:)
