"Alright so I may have jumped the gun-"
"Dad- uhm I mean Coran, you ditched the other pilots after running into an escape pod."
"THEY MADE FUN OF MY MUSTACHE-"
"Nevermind let's blow up the ship."
"Lance, we can't blow up the ship. Cosmo is still on it-" Pidge attempted to rationalize why they shouldn't commit murder.
"Woof!" Cosmo barked, appearing in the Red lion's cockpit. Cosmo was very mad at the author for forgetting about them.
"I personally think we blow up the ship- and Lance you can blow-" Lotor attempted to join in but was immediately attacked by Cosmo and now was trapped under the lord and savior Cosmo who is the only reason the author is sane writing him.
The group was silent but they all decided to shrug it off because it was Lotor.
Anyways the group finally made it out of the Red lions cockpit.
'I don't like the blue lookin guy.' Red grumbled.
'Remember the plan! You agreed'
'Nuh uh.'
'What- nuh uh??'
'Where's your evidence? There is none.' Red smirked, and looked at Lance very proudly. Lance decided to ignore the Red lion, at least the readers knew the truth.
'You know what. I'm ignoring you.'
'SO WHY DON'T YOU GIVE ME ONE MORE-' Red was cut off by Lance blocking the connection.
The group was walking through a very mucky forest, looking for any traces of the so-called civilization they were told about.
"Are we sure your cat friend was right Lance?" Pidge asked, looking around the forest. There was no trace of any life.
"I'm pretty sure he is because I know he wouldn't lie to me." Lance said his loyalty had always been his fatal flaw and despite being betrayed by team Voltron he had yet to lose that quality. It was almost admirable if it wasn't a weakness that could be exploited.
"...Alright, if you say so." Pidge said after a moment of hesitance.
Lance eyed Pidge as she said this, knowing her doubts and he could understand them- hell the team they thought they could trust turned out to be a bunch of self centered pricks. However Lance felt deep in his gut that he could trust the cat he had once saved from total annihilation... Hopefully.
Cosmo helpfully led the way, tracking an unknown scent to an unknown location... but he was trying! As the space wolf trekked through the unknown terrain he stumbled into a vine trap. A shocked yelp broke through the silence as Cosmo was hoisted up by one of his hind legs. Of course he immediately teleported out and back to Lance's side as the group scanned the area.
They were on high alert now, the trap reminding them that they were on an unknown planet supposedly filled with Alteans.
"State your names and business." A female voice said from behind, Altean markings on her face and magic stirring in her hands, she poised a threat for most people. However Lance, Pidge, Cosmo, Coran, and Lance were hardly normal people. Plus the Red lion ominously loomed behind the young Altean woman so there wasn't any real concern.
Lance turned around first, making sure his Altean markings were clear as he spoke.
"My name is Lance, I'm the paladin of the Red Lion of Voltron, I am here to speak with the Altean settlement here." Lance said, trying to keep his voice steady and relaxed. This was a high stake situation and he'd rather not fight the same people he was trying to ally. That wouldn't be very good.
"Lance... of Voltron.... You are Altean?" The young woman asked, eyeing his marks suspiciously.
Lance made a show of looking at the markings on his arms. Even in stressful situations he did have a sense of humor.
"Looks like it!" Was Lance's choice of response.
The young woman looked at him, not very impressed.
However the environment around them was becoming dusk, who knew what the nights were like on this unknown planet.
"Come, the leaders will want to speak with you." She said, turning and expecting the group to follow.
Pidge looked over at Lance, looking for his direction.
Coran looked over at Lance, pausing.
"I think we should follow her- I feel it in my mustache." Coran spoke up softly.
"Alright, lets go then." Lance said, knowing the only way they could go was forward.
"What about my opinion?? Do I not get a say?" Lotor suddenly spoke up.
He was met with silence and Cosmo's judging look.
And off they went to meet the supposed leaders of this Altean group.
