TRISTAN:

That's what changed.

There was something about Dru that made me aware of her in a way that I wasn't with all the other girls I knew. Maybe it was the way she held herself when she's threatened. Or maybe it was the way she scrunched her nose when she's irritated, the way she bit her lip when thinking. Whatever it was, it made me wonder about her all the time. She's not like the girls that's always around me.

She's not self- centred nor vain.

And that was refreshing. That's what I need.

I guess that's one of the reason why I've gone out of my way just to see her and talk to her. But what happened tonight isn't my plan. I don't even know she's gonna be here tonight. I came here because Shayla called me saying that it's important. I didn't want to talk to her but she insisted.

"Tris!" I cringed at her annoying voice and that god awful nickname. She made it sound like I'm a girl.

"Shayla." I nodded in response but I guess that wasn't enough for her 'cause she strode over and wrapped her bony arms around my neck and kissed me on both cheeks. When she was done, I sat at one of the three chairs and the farthest from where Shayla sat. I wouldn't want her to get a different idea as to why I came to meet her. Shayla was one of my leading ladies in my recent movie and her publicist thought it'll be great for her image if she was caught "dating" me. My manager thought it'll be great and since I've got nothing else to do, I agreed with her. It's been a month and I want out of it. I don't like her and I think she likes me too much. Besides, I can't stomach being with her and pining for Dru at the same time. I may be a player but I don't cheat.

"Listen, I-" I wanted to cut to the chase but she interupted me.

"Let's go order something first."

"No that's not necessary, I ju-"

She signaled for me to shut up and called for the waiter and she ordered for us. Geez, she's very pushy. And with the way her eyes gleamed with desperation and determination, I'm kinda worried about what she's planning. I've worked with her for a year now and all those times that her eyes would flash like that, there was always a tragic thing that would happen.

"How may I assist tonight, madam?" Our waiter turned out to be a guy a little bit older than me who couldn't take his eyes off of Shayla's chest. Obviously, Shayla noticed it and started flirting her ass off. I'm betting my R8 that she's gonna take him to her room tonight and go back to trying to seduce me the next morning. I wrinkled my nose in disgust. 2 years before , I would have considered her proposition but I learned that I don't like those desperate and clingy slutty girls. It turned me off more than an image of my grandma naked, and that's saying something. My thoughts brought me to imagining Dru's face. I knew that Dru wasn't like that the moment I bumped into her.

She's different. Like otherwordly different. She's like-

I can't exactly find a word for it since I've met her only yesterday and it was just a bump.

Something caught my eyes and then I saw it reflected in the mirror. At that moment, I knew what she was.

A dark angel sent to bring me to my knees. With a gorgeous black and red boat neck dress, she's exquisite. I found myself having a hard time breathing. She's beautiful and even though I'm here with someone else, I can't think of anyone but her.

Someone cleared her throat and when I turned to her, I finally found myself facing the object of my infatuation.

"Can we help you?" She turned to Shayla and I could tell she was annoyed by the way her face scrunched up. It was adorable and beautiful.

"Yes, I bet you could. You see-" Shayla disregarded her and it made Dru's annoyance turned to anger.

"Excuse me?"

"Pen and paper?" Shayla stared at her like she thought Dru is dumber than rocks. I had to clench my fist from pounding the table like a caveman. No one should look at her like that.

"You're here for an autograph right?" Why would she think that?

"I'm not here for an autograph, I'm here since you stole my reservation." Shayla gaped like a fish out of the water and I interviened 'cause we're drawing quite a number of crowds.

"Wait, this is your table?"

"Yes, Einstein. This was our table so that we could enjoy dinner to celebrate my parents anniversary." Oh.

"I'm sorry, I should've checked with them first." I glared at Shayla for being so rude.

"Let's go Shayla, we've overstayed." I stood up to go and Dru gave me a space even though I didn't want one. But I didn't dwell on that 'cause Shayla's putting on her childish attitude again.

"But I paid a lot for us to spend time together Tris." I supressed a shiver. I don't want to spend any more time than necessary.

"Shayla. Move." I caught Dru smiling with a satisfied smile.

"I'll meet you at the entrance." With that, Shayla's gone.

When I turned to Dru I didn't expect her question. "How old are you?" I couldn't help but smirk when I answered that.

"19" Dru frowned but I didn't comment on it.

"How old are you?"

"16" She sounded a bit distracted and I couldn't help but shoot her an apologetic smile.

"I should probably go." She nodded but I don't want to go. Not yet. I want to stay there and talk with her for a bit. Maybe get to know her. Even though I want to just sit there at their table and spend time with her I can't help but ask the question: What is this that I'm feeling?
