With that the pirate days were behind us. Gone was an era of sword fights and digging for treasure in the backyard. Instead with John by his side Sherlock explores his new found passion. Hardly a day goes by where some sort of experiment is not staining the carpet of his bedroom. John becomes Sherlock's assistant, his job ranging from taking notes on a case Sherlock found in the papers to reminding Sherlock to sleep after he spends the night pouring over various crime books. I help of course, times may have changed but nothing could change the fact that I would always be Sherlock's loyal captain and best friend. My job is to collect things for Sherlock to make deductions about. Sherlock can read a whole life story from any object. To him the world is comprised of books and he is itching to open all of their pages. A stuffed doll on the side of the road tells him a tale of a family moving and a favouite toy being dropped and left behind. A collection of pencils, bracelets and the odd candy wrapper I find in the alley tells him that the man across the street is a kleptomaniac. No secret is safe from Sherlock. Including the secrets he is better off not uncovering. Sherlock finds the letter in Mycroft's room when he is looking through his brother's things to try and find the microscope kept there. In its place he found an envelope addressed to Mycroft in neat looping handwriting. The envelope was cream in colour and made out of thick paper it is obviously very high quality. It is stamped with the seal of an elite boarding school and what the envelope holds tears Sherlock apart.
