3 days to go.

Cas and Dean were lying comfortable on the couch at Dean's apartment while the snow fell heavier in the outside world.

The television was playing lightly in the background while Cas played with Dean's hand.

Dean was humming to a song he had recently got stuck in his head. The words of Jim kept playing itself over and over in Dean's head.

"I owe you a fall, Dean. I. Owe. You"

What does that even mean?

He tried not to dwell on it too much and paid attention to Castiel.

"Are you nervous" Cas asked, not looking away from Dean's hand, his head still r stint on his chest.

"Nervous about what?" Dean asked giving Cad a confused look at he stared at their hands together.

"About the art exhibition this week" Castiel smiled meeting his gaze. "I'm only nervous about how you'll like it" Dean smiled back. "I'm sure I'll love it" Castiel grinned leaning up to close the gap between them.

The rest of that morning went on smoothly. They watched TV, make out, make pancakes that turned into a flour fight. They built a fort in the living room and ate their food.

It was one of the best mornings either of the men had had in a long long time.

"How's Sam?" Castiel asked, not looking away from the TV that was currently playing 'The Hobbit: Battle Of The Five Armies' "he's good, excited to see the art this weekend" Dean smiled.

"When's he leaving?" He asked, this time he looked up at Dean. "boxing day" Dean smiled lightly, kissing Cas' cheek. "How you feeling about that" Cas returned his gaze to the movie but wasn't paying attention as much.

He was too busy listen to Dean's heartbeat and breathing. It was the most beautiful sound he ad ever heard.

"I'm fine Cas, I've got you" he smiled pulling Castiel closer. "What did Jim say to you" Cas sighed "how'd you know we talked?" Dean asked, looking down at the raven haired man. "He called me before I came over this morning" Dean nodded slightly "what'd he say about it?" He asked "just that he likes you and hopes that you get another chance to talk again and to give him wishes for the exhibition this weekend" Cas sat up and paid his attention on his artistic boyfriend. "That sounds about right" Dean smiled "Dean-" "Cas, nothing happened, I just told him to back off" Cas smiled back lightly "I'd never go back to him, you that right, he was a manipulative, psychotic manchild that liked to get into your head with abusive words and claimed he was the best boyfriend I'd get" Cas sighed leaning back into Dean's embrace. "I know, I just wanted to make sure he known that" Dean sighed holding Castiel closer. It was like if he let go Castiel would disappear from Dean's life and never to be seen again.

He knew he had to talk to Jim again but how could he if he was talking to Castiel about every encounter they have. Dean had to get him number off Cas' phone and onto his. If Jim was calling anyone he'd rather it be him and Castiel.

-----
It took all night before Cas finally fell asleep on the sofa, he was cuddling into Dean with his head on his chest. Dean's heartbeat sang him to sleep.

Dean took this as an opportunity to give Jim a call.

He slipped out into the garden and rang the number.

"Castiel" Moriarty purred flirtatiously. Dean rolled his eyes "James" he smirked. He didn't speak for a while. "What do you want" he breathed, he sounded so calm. "Stay away from Cas" Dean heard James laughing on the other end "and what makes you think you can keep me away" Dean smirked.

"Because I'll end you" James laughed again. "Dean, your baby brother and all the Kings horses couldn't stop me" Dean's voice turned serious this time. "Yes but I'm not brother. I'm you" Jim was quiet.

"See you very very soon Dean" Jim purred again before he hung up.

Dean stayed in the garden for a little longer. Watching the snow fall lightly into his hair and all around him.

What the hell is James up to.
