Lyah was still ignoring Caden the morning after. I could tell Caden was trying to apologize but whenever he would start talking, Lyah would ask me to do something or call me over to talk to me and that's the way it remained for a while.
"Lyah, I-"
"Jacey, can you hand me a drink from the fridge. I need to quench my thirst."
I roll my eyes. This was getting really stupid. The poor guy was trying to make things right here.
Reed still hasn't woken up. Either that, or he just doesn't wasn't to come upstairs because of these two constant quarreling. I'll go with the latter.
"Lyah, Catch!"
I throw her that drink she wanted. I forgot she couldn't catch for shit, but right before it hit her head, Caden catches it and hands it to her. Usually, she would squeal over an action like that, but right now, she justs grabs the drink from his hand and continues to ignore him.
"I don't get why you're ignoring him." I ask Lyah when Caden leaves.
"Jacey." She sighs. "To keep guys interested, you have to play a little hard to get."
"You're not playing hard to get Lyah, you're playing impossible to reach. The guy is saying sorry. At least he has the balls to do that."
"Whatever." She sighs and heads downstairs, followed by Caden.
Obviously, they start at each other heads, and if I could hear it from upstairs, Reed would probably be wide awake.
As predicted, Reed comes storming up the stairs with a pillow in his hand and knocks out on the couch in nothing but his boxers. It was hard not directly staring at his abs, and I did sneak a glance once or twice.
"WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO? PUNCH HER?"
"ANYTHING BUT SIT THERE WATCH YOUR DATE GET EMBARRASSED IN FRONT OF EVERYONE."
"Holy shit, would you tell them to shut up!" Reed whines, getting up from the couch.
"Let them fix their problems."
"They're not fixing their problems. Their throwing their problems at the wall and super gluing it back together!"
I think about it for a while and realize it had no deep meaning whatsoever.
"That doesn't make any sense."
"Neither do their problems!" He puts his pillow over his head.
"Maybe you should just wake up."
"Maybe you should go back to sleep."
"I'm not a lazy ass."
I was waiting for a stupid response until I heard a light snore coming from him. Was I really that boring that everyone just falls asleep while talking to me?
"I CARE ABOUT YOU I JUST DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO."
It remained quiet for a while, as they finally tried to be level headed with each other and talk it out.
"ANYTHING BUT JUST STAND THERE."
Fucking shit.

They made it out. After hours of torture to the ears, and a few complaints from the neighbors, they decided to just text and finally agreed to not hating each other's guts. They were gonna give their first date another try too.
I was in bed, watching netflix when Reed reminded me of the party we were going to. I was disappointed, not only because I was forced out of my binging, but because I needed to get into character of the quarterbacks girlfriend. How to make the ex girlfriend jealous.
