Daryl was gone.

Good for him, but for the rest of the sanctuary, it meant curfew lockdown and daily searches as Negan waited out the snitches to come crawling to him with news of Daryl's whereabouts.

When they eventually came out of the woodwork, like the louse it was, Maud, whose house came tumbling around down around her.

The only reason Maud even knew about this was due to the temper tantrum that Negan threw; she found out about it as he tried to rade her room, turning over her mattress in a vain attempt to find the convict.

As Negan swung his metaphorical phalice around, threatening her.

Maud's lack of interest didn't please him; he left, leaving Maud to occupy herself with her white walls.

Unbothered by the state of her plush prison, Maud sat down against the many mattresses on the floor.

The walls, an off white, staring at her and her into them.

Trapped in this four-by-four room, Maud's mind began to wander as her waking and dreaming mixed into a bundle indistinguishable from each other.

In this space where time slowed and movement stilled to almost complete nothingness, Maud trudged through a place separated from her white prison, and instead, in contrast, this place was filled with rich colour.

A nice plush suburb with neon green lawns and spring cicadas whispering in her ears, as she made her way down the winding street.

A bell chiming in the distance that sounded like one off the handle of a bicycle drew Maud's attention.

Maud sought the bike out at the sounds of the bell ran away from her Maud, being ever persisistant followed rushing down the path between houses rushing past empty pools and garages the sound pumping in her ears seemed to always allure her no matter how hard her legs worked or how much she yelled for the individual to stop so that she could catch up to them.

Maud stopped outside a home empty in appearance and in occupancy. Maud thought about raiding in hopes of water.

Pushing one of the unlocked doors, the sound of chiming bells zeroed in on the home.

Walking through the home, Maud went to swipe at a metal can on the floor. It had to have broken open, dropped, as there was a red mess on the floor. Looking at the can itself, there were no abrasions at all; just a dent seemed to have been made into the side.

Maud felt her heart beat deep in her chest as she looked down at herself, where she was no longer wearing her white lace dress.

The bells grew louder as Maud made to turn and leave the house.

The door locked.

Maud placed her head against the door, breathing.

It was like the walls were closing in on her, forcing Maud to face what she had been successfully avoiding.

The front door had no give to it as Maud gave up on her attempt at escape and turned around, facing the kitchen.

Here she was again; she could remember the day as if it were yesterday, skipping over Mickey's form.

Creeping into the kitchen, the bells sounded more like screams piling over one another the closer she got.

Carl huddled in the corner.

Maud allows Judith to stay with him this time as she looks at Wren's small body, so devoid of life despite her movement.

Maud picked her up, holding her close as she left both Mickey, Carl and Judith out the back door.
