(Petes POV)
I was hoping against hope that he had got the message. I sat on my bed and stared at the phone through tears. Andy came in and brought me a bagel. I felt like if I ate it though, I would just puke. It was a sickening feeling. I hated it. I wanted to die at that point. What was the point of living if I wasn't even happy. I finally came out of the room and joined Joe on the couch. Andy was working and Joe was watching some weird documentary on dogs.
"How you holding up?" Joe asked as I sat on the couch.
"Trying to, I just feel empty."
"Itll be okay." He said. He was so chill. He was great to talk to, something I had taken advantage of and now I needed someone to talk to. Better yet I needed Patrick. But I couldn't have him now. And honestly doubted I ever would again.
"What are you watching?"
"A dog documentary."
"Why?"
"Because I like doggies."
"Is this how you usually spend your time?"
"Nah, only sometimes."
"What other things do you do other than sit around then?"
"I play guitar in a band."
"OMG I PLAY BASS IN A BAND WOW OH GUESS WHAT we are in the same band.." I said sarcastically.
"I don't do much, I need to start doing something productive though."
"Same."
Andy came home and we ate pizza. I knew they probably wanted some alone time so I headed over to Joshs house. We were good friends and he said he'd let me crash there for a while. But when I got to his door I got a call from Brendon.
"Hello?" I said.
"I'm so sorry man, I don't know what I was thinking."
"Woah woah, hold up what happened?"
"Patrick didn't tell you?"
"Tell me what?"
"I thought he would've told you by now."
"Brendon what happened to Patrick?" I was panicking now.
"He came over and... well"
