Tyler's POV
I watched painfully as Jeff took Chloe to her room.

"Hey Tyler!" I cringed at the high voice of the one and only Amber. She ran her hand up and down my bicep leaving unwanted goosebumps.

"So I'm starving!!" She playfully whined.

If she is trying to get me to ask her out, she's crazy.

"Ty!! Did you hear me?" She giggled making me want to gag. "I'm so hungry."

"That sucks," I mumbled as Jeff turned the corner with Chloe shaking in his arms.

"Why do you like her?" I turned around shocked at Amber's question.

"Chloe?"

"Yeah. I mean I am so much, well better than her." She sighed.

"Not at being modest," I mumbled. "She is down to earth. And why do you care anyway?"

"Because Ty, a guy like you shouldn't waste his time on a loser like her."

"A loser? Like her or like you?" Before she could say anything I took off running towards Chloe's room.

When I got to her room, I took a deep breathe before knocking on the door. "Chloe?"

Chloe's POV

Jeff looked at me with expectant eyes. Getting nervous I shook my head no.

"You should talk to him," Jeff mouthed.

"I can't," I mouthed back.

Sighing, Jeff walked towards the door as I laid back down making sure my back was to the door.

"Jeff?" I heard Tyler asked surprised. I could feel his gaze on my back.

"How is she?" I heard him try to step inside but Jeff stopped him.

"Tired. We should let her rest."

"But what's wrong with her? Why did she collapse?"

"I.... I don't know. Doc is off today but when he comes back tomorrow I'm going to have him check on her. For now, we should let her rest."

"Someone should stay with her. I will."

"No!"

"Why not? What's going on? What aren't you telling me Jeff?"

I jumped when I heard the door shut.

Tyler's POV

What is he not telling me?!

Suddenly, Jeff dragged me away from Chloe. I could see Chloe's shoulders shaking as Jeff closed the door.

"Look, it's not my place. You should ask Chloe but know this; I've been at this center for years. I've been with Chloe since she first got here. What she needs isn't medicine or exercises. It's love. That's the reason she's here. Normal people heal surrounded my family in the hospital. Chloe..... She went through everything alone. When she went to the hospital, her father never came. In fact, he left the country. He abandoned her. Don't be like her father. Don't you dare abandon her Tyler. Because if you hurt her....... It'll be too much for her."

"I would never hurt Chloe. I just want to make sure she is okay. I want to help her. Please. Let me see her." I begged.

"Why don't you talk to Amber first?"

Amber? What does she have to do with Chloe weakening?
