Chloe's POV

I played with the ring on my finger as I waited for the guards to get the man who shares the same DNA as me. It's been 3 years since the court case, 2 years since I left the center and 5 years since the accident that started it all.

I was finally happy. I had a husband who loved me more than anything in the world. And a little boy on the way that I would love more than life itself. I may not love the man who used to be my father but he should know I'm happy.

My breathe caught in my throat as he was escorted out. I watched as he sat on the other end of the glass. I could have asked to be seated with him in the visiting room but I was pregnant and with our history..... I didn't want to risk anything happening to the baby.

I waited as he sat down and grabbed the phone. I did the same.

"What?" He asked harshly.

"Hello to you too." I rolled my eyes. Neither one of us said anything.

Finally he let out a loud groan. "What brings a young lady like you here?"

"Well I wanted to let you know that after everything that happened, I'm happy. I've moved on. Sadly you can't." I shrugged

"Whatever." He scoffed. I started to stand up but stopped when he exclaimed. "Look who is 16 and pregnant!!"

"I'm 21." I sighed. "We couldn't be happier." I smiled putting my hand on my stomach.

"We?" He scoffed.

"Tyler and I. We're married." I said with a straight face self-consciously playing with my ring.

"So you did have fun with him." He laughed. "Told you this would happen if you lived with him."

"Not that I have to tell you but we didn't do anything until after we got married." I sighed. There was an awkward silence.

"Really. Look because of you, I had a rough childhood. Because of you I was abandoned and both physically and mentally hurt. But because you abandoned me I met Tyler, the man who changed my life for the better. Because you left me to fend for myself, I found someone who will always take care of me. I love him and he loves me. More importantly, he loves our child. Oh by the way, you are having a grandson." I said slowly standing up.

Before I left I turned around. "I like to believe that the man who raised me, who taught me to love, is still inside somewhere. That is the man I want my son to know as his grandfather. I would love for you to be a part of mine and Tyler's family but not this you. The you who I remember. The you I grew up with. When he wakes up, give me a call. But until then, stay the hell away from me, my husband and our family."

I felt great as I turned around and walked out of the jail. I walked outside to see Tyler leaning against our car. "How did it go?" He asked walking up and wrapping his arm around me.

"Like a weight has been lifted." I smiled.

"Good," he said kissing me lightly on the lips. He then leaned down and kissed my baby bump. "And how is my favorite little man?"

"Giving his mother a real kick in the kidneys." I laughed.

"Come on, let's get out of here." He said giving me another kiss.

"Yes, please." I sighed as he held the door open for me. I grabbed his shirt bringing him down to me and pressed his lips to mine.

"I love you." I whispered.

"I love you too." He said kissing me again before standing up, shutting my door and walking to his side. As Tyler started the car I couldn't help but smile. It's crazy how events can be so terrible that you just want to give up but then suddenly everything works out.

What started as an awful accident that took my mother and made my father resent me, placed me in a center where I did the one thing I never thought I would be able to do- fall in love.

The End.
