The Strange Case of Jimin and Jeongyeon

Chapter 12: Jeongyeon

A week has passed since their failed attempt at switching back to their bodies. They had not met for almost a week due to busy schedules but they would communicate with each other through private messages. However, when the week was about to end, they decided to meet somewhere private because they realized that being a part of a different group so sudden was not a walk in the park. They decided to meet at a private café were celebrities, especially idols, would usually meet when they go on a romantic date due to it being in a Gangnam alleyway where normal citizens usually do not go to.

Jeongyeon wore an oversized black hoodie with a white shirt underneath it, comfortable gray sweatpants and white sneakers. She also wore a mask and shades to cover her face. It was really strange to go to a place were people usually go for a romantic date when she was not dating anyone to begin with. She finally saw Jimin at the table located in the farthest corner of the café and walked towards him. Their clothes were matching which made her roll her eyes.

Their conversation was about their problems when it comes to performing with a group that they really were not a part of but was forced to join due to their unique circumstances. It still felt so strange for Jeongyeon to see her own face without looking in the mirror.

Jeongyeon's main concern was that she had a hard time keeping up with BTS' more intense and more difficult choreography. It has always been one of her insecurities that she was not the best at learning the dance steps in Twice. Switching bodies with Jimin who was not just one of BTS' main dancers but also one of the best dancers in their generation, just heightened up that insecurity and anxiety. Jimin's dance parts were often a highlight of BTS' performances. She was not used to such responsibility in a dance performance because she did not have Momo's dancing skills.

Meanwhile, Jimin expressed that he has been losing his confidence with his vocals ever since his mistake in the last music awards. He admitted to watching Twice videos and he felt the pressure because he knew that Jeongyeon was always praised for her vocals by fans and nonfans. Twice has been having a lot of live performances and fanmeetings in both Japan and Korea lately. The songs they would perform are those where Jeongyeon had more lines or those that require her vocal skills such as One in a Million and Be as One.

To solve their problems, they decided to rent a studio and help each other's problems. They cannot inconvenience their respective groups just because of their strange circumstance.

They have been meeting for a week. Jeongyeon pushed herself so hard just to learn how to execute BTS' dance steps accurately. However, since she was taking Jimin's role, it had to be excellent. Jimin also added extra trainings to help her body keep up with the intensity of the choreography. She was used to body aches because it was indeed part of being an idol since trainee days. However, this was more than what she was used to.

Jeongyeon also helped Jimin with his vocal problems by giving him tips such as vocal warm up or what drinks to avoid and not to avoid during a performance. She would also explain to him her techniques to belt those high notes. She would notice the shakiness every time he would sing her lines. She wondered if it was a skill issue until he saw the slight trembling of his fingers when he had to repeat singing her lines. She remembered the last time he performed on stage when he made a mistake. She saw how disappointed he was and it made her wonder if that mistake affected him more than he thought it had.

It was already another week since they rented a studio to help each other solve their problems. Jeongyeon just woke up and rose from her bed to go to the bathroom. When she was about to push the door, the door opened revealing Jungkook who was only wearing a towel on the lower parts of his body. The dampness of his hair made it obvious that he took a shower. She immediately looked the other way to avoid ogling at him.
