Jeongyeon couldn't sleep. She had been tossing and turning in bed for a while. When Jimin suggested that they see a gifted shaman to help them out with their situation, she was a bit skeptical at first but also had her hopes up that maybe they can finally get out of this situation. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case and and the whole experience was a let down. She cried the whole time when they were riding the bus on the way home. She was thankful that Jimin was at least there and tried his best to hush her and calm her down. When she got back, she just went straight to Jimin's room and didn't even talk to the other BTS members. She just wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone.
She grabbed her phone, Jimin's phone, then googled the upscale hotel where the MGA afterparty was held. She actually didn't know why she decided to google it but just felt that she had to do it at this moment. The name of the hotel is Heliopolis Hotel, named after an ancient Egyptian city. The info said that it was built by one of the most successful family of hoteliers in South Korea, The Choi Family. The building and the theme of the hotel was headlined by the youngest daughter who took up business management in Yale but also studied Egyptology. According to the article, the youngest heiress had a fascination for ancient Egyptian mythology where the theme of the hotel was inspired. She was also the one who chose the decorations to be used in the new hotel and was proud that some of the statues of the ancient Egypt gods and goddesses were acquired from a renowned antique shop in Egypt at a really high price.
The statue then entered Jeongyeon's mind. She was starting to remember what really happened that night. She remembered looking for the bathroom but was lost and then saw the statue. The statue also fascinated her, she remembered, and also thought that it reminded her of ancient Egypt. She then googled the goddesses of ancient Egypt. Her knowledge of ancient Egypt was really limited or maybe nonexistent when compared to Greek mythology. The google gave her a list then googled those on the list one by one. She started with Nefertiri then Isis but realized that none of them resembled the statue at the hotel. Then she finally googled Hathor. The results made her jaw drop. The results looked so similar to the statue she saw at the hotel, especially the cow horns. There was even one picture that really looked like the statue at the hotel. She looked for more information about Hathor.
According to the site she clicked, Hathor is the Egyptian goddess of love, beauty, music, dance, motherhood or fertility and joy. The information Jeongyeon read made her raise an eyebrow. She wondered why on earth would a goddess of love curse her and Jimin like this. She continued reading to find out more about Hathor.
One source on the internet that she read said that Hathor had another identity which was the goddess of war named Sekhmet who was made by the Supreme Egyptian god Ra to punish humans who rebelled against him. Sekhmet destroyed Ra's enemies but that wasn't enough so she continued to wreak havoc on Earth. Then Ra turned the Nile into red and the goddess of war thought that it was blood and drank from it. Unfortunately for her, the river was actually turned into alcohol and she got drunk then fell asleep. After waking up, she then turned into this kind and loving goddess named Hathor.
Jeongyeon didn't know what to say about what she read . She wasn't even sure if she understood what she read. She even asked herself if there was anything about Hathor's story that connected with her and Jimin that she had to curse them like this. She decided to send a message to her phone, the one that is currently used by Jimin right now, to inform him that she found some information about the statue.
They decided to meet at the same time and place that they met yesterday. They sat down on one of the benches on the side of the Han river to discuss the information she gathered about the statue. She told him that she found out that the statue is the Egyptian goddess of love, Hathor.
"Why on earth would a goddess of love curse us and put us into this situation?" Jimin asked, trying to figure out why the statue, who turned out to be Hathor, would curse them. "I don't get it."
