"The dungeon?" Alethea asked, holding her teacup just in front of her mouth ready to take a sip.
The group of six gathered in the sitting room in the morning, the sun's golden rays shining through the windows as four of them sat together for tea while the other two served. Kye frequently tried to convince the twins to join her and let other attendants handle their assumed duties, but they were very stubborn.
Kye's gaze swept over each member of the group, her sudden suggestion taking them by surprise, before settling back on Alethea. She nodded and said, "Yeah. I want to start going in with our group. Me, you, Lily, Ally, Lara, and Rika."
"We'll have to talk to Astarte, Allison, and Ginchiyo first."
"What do you guys think? All of us have good weapons now, and I think you're ready." The twins exchanged glances and barely reacted while Alaira and Rika were more excited.
"Are you sure?" Alaira asked. "Normally people aren't allowed in the dungeon until age 15."
Kye opened the system menu and pulled up the party display.
<<User>> <Level - HP - MP>
<<Kye Akari>> <58 - 38,478 - 111,936>
<<Alethea Atlantis>> <58 - 39,644 - 110,770>
<<Liliana Venturi>> <55 - 35,008 - 48,136>
<<Aliana Venturi>> <55 - 34,944 - 48,048>
<<Alaira Marshall>> <55 - 35,425 - 46,870>
<<Rika Tachibana>> <55 - 34,398 - 48,048>"You guys are Level 55 at age 10. That's already higher than 99% of the population and higher than anyone in the first three years of the Royal Academy right now."
Alaira and Rika glared at Kye, neither intent to let their cousin brush aside her contribution to their growth. "We're only this level because of you."
Kye shrugged, just as unwilling to let them give her too much credit. "I can take credit for guiding you, but not for the work you put in. You achieved this through your own efforts."
"Don't undersell the importance of a teacher," Rika said. "Without you, we would be maybe half this level. And that's being optimistic."
"I don't mean to. I just want to emphasize that your efforts are every bit as important."
"Fine, I'll let you have that," Alaira said, eyeing the party screen, particularly the MP column. "I've been meaning to ask, but how is your MP so high? Both of you. You're only a few levels higher than the rest of us, but your MP is over double."
Kye traded glances with Alethea, who only shrugged. "They can gain the passive in the dungeon, so..."
"Yeah." Kye closed the party interface, then navigated to her passives tab.
"There are both active and passive abilities that allow you to augment your stats. Some things like the Lux Aurora spells can buff particular stats. Ignis buffs strength, Fulmen buffs agility, for example. Lumino buffs magic and agility. Alethea and I have a passive trait that buffs our MP. It's always active and only works because the amount of mana in our souls exceeds our MP."
"What's so different about Mana and MP?" Rika asked.
"Hmm... Mana is not directly displayed by the system, but it technically can be put into a numerical value. MP is literally Mana Points. Think of it as how much you can use at a time. How much mana your soul possesses determines how much that MP can regenerate and how quickly. On average, most people have mana in the high millions or low tens of millions. Most nobles and royals in the Atlantis empire have billions. A few outliers have more. It just depends on how much your soul has gone through in your past lives."
