"Hi ma'am is there anything I can help you with?" A very happy looking deputy asked me.
"Yeah who are you?"
"Miss I am Deputy Enos Strait of Hazzard County."
"Well deputy any chance I can talk to a man named J.D. Hogg."
"Yes ma'am but uh Mr. Hogg is eating his mid day snack and he don't like to be disturbed during his meals so I'm gonna have to ask you to wait right here."
I rolled my eyes," you've got to be kidding me."
"No ma'am he gets real mad when he's disturbed."
"Whatever I have some business for him and there's no way in hell i'm waiting around for him to eat his 'pre dinner snack'."
I walked away from his pleads to stop and walked into the office that said commissioner J.D. Hogg. I was faced with a very large man scarfing down a very large sub sandwich. He looked up at me and glared. "Enos you dipstick how many times do I tell you not to send people in here when I'm eating." The deputy ran in looking very nervous "possum on a gum bush boss I tried to stop her but she just ignored me and walked right in."
"Now who do you think you are waltzing in here while I'm trying to eat my lunch." Hogg said to me angrily. "Just someone that would like to make a business deal with you."
That got him interested. "Well what kind of business are you looking for because I'm open to any kind of business .....Anything."
"Well I think I have something that would spark your interest. I've know that two certain criminals are here in Hazzard county and I want you to catch them and lock em up."
"And why would I do a thing like that."
"Because I know they are going to start transporting black market guns here in Hazzard and there's a pretty large reward for their arrest."
"Reward? Black Market? Well you should have started with that. I'm in. So who're these fellows that need to be caught."
I pulled out a wanted poster from my pocket. "Frank and Jessie James. Your sheriff had a little run in with them yesterday might want to ask him where they went."
"You mean... The James brothers? From Texas? How did they get all the way down here?"
"They've been chasing me because I'm Jesses ex girlfriend and I know a little too much information."
"What's a little girl like you doing with troublemakers like those?"
"I have a tendency to fall for bad boys I guess. So I can count on you to arrest these boys?"
"You have my word." I turned and made my way to the door.
"Ha likes bad boys I sure hope she doesn't never meet Bo and Luke Duke." I laughed to myself and pretended like i didn't hear him.
"What?"
"Oh nothing say where'd you say I could contact you?"
"The Duke farm." I smirked as his face went pale and walked out of his office.
"Bye now Enos."
"Hehe goodbye Miss Faith."I made my way across the street back to cooter's garage and found the boys sitting on the hood of the general having a conversation with Cooter.
"Y'all get the general fixed up?" I asked.
"Yep she's running better than she's ever had" Cooter replied. "Really? That's good to hear. Maybe I'll bring in my mustang if he ever needs some work done."
"Why id be my pleasure. The boys tell me I'm the best mechanic in the state of Georgia."
"I believe it. Alright Bo, Luke lets get back to the farm Jessie's expecting us back soon."
"We're going. See you later Cooter." Bo said as he hopped in and started the engine. Luke picked me up and placed my feet through the windows helping me get in. Once we were all set we waved to Cooter and drove back towards the farm.
We pulled in just as Jessie walked out of the barn feeding a little baby goat. I helped the boys unload the trunk while they filled Jessie in about the problems Cooter fixed on the general. Bo and Jessie went to go bring the food in the house and I turned to follow them but Luke grabbed my arm and pulled me back.
"What did you have to talk to boss about earlier?"
"Nothing I just had a deal for him."
He laughed. "You and boss made a deal? Ha I don't believe it."
"Well you better because he was all over what I had told him."
"Now what was it that's so important that you couldn't have asked me and Bo to help you out with first?"
"It's nothing just let it go please. I don't want y'all getting involved."
"Fine I'll drop it right now but that don't mean I'm not going to find out whatever it is your having trouble with. But by any chance does this have to do with your ex?"
"Maybe but I thought you said you would drop it."
"I will, I will. Just remember you can trust me. I'll help you out with anything you need."
I replied I know and walked I into the house. I put all my new clothes away and went into the kitchen where I was greeted by the smell of daisys cooking. "Hey Daisy I didn't realize you were back so early."
"Yeah boss called and closed the Boars Nest early because he said he has some things to work on over there which means he made a new business deal today and has to figure out the best way to double cross his partner."
"Yeah I'm the one who made a deal with him and trust me he ain't double crossing no one."
"What?! You talked to Boss? That's like making a deal with the devil?"
"I've done worse what's the worst that can happen anyways. Nothing I can't handle."
"I sure hope your right about that sugar."
Soon enough dinner was ready and we all dug into Daisys delicious backed ham and mashed potatoes. Luke asked me if I wanted to go on a walk with him and I followed him outside where the sun was starting to fade behind the trees and the sky began to change to a soft orange and pink.
