The next night...

"You shouldn't come with me." Adam told her as he started to leave to find Ripper.

"I can walk." Jaylyn argued, which was true, it was just painful with all her wounds.

"If you just let me kill you so you could come back..." He saw her glare at him. "Jay, what if you find him? You're in no condition to fight at the moment."

"I want to help." She replied persistently.

"No."

"But-"

"Jaylyn if you come I'll kill you myself." He snapped.

She gave a halfhearted grin. "Wouldn't that mean I could go? I mean I wouldn't be hurt."

Adam glowered at her before leaving with one last comment. "Don't let me see you outside this building."

Jaylyn waited until he was out the door before leaning back against the wall for support. In a way she was glad he had ordered her not to leave, she had wanted to go, but it was a pain to move and even just leaning there was sending throbs of pain through her shoulder, chest, and abdomen. She grimaced before walking towards her room; she could rest there with at least some comfort. A few minutes later she paused though, she'd heard the sound of a window opening. A frown crossed her face, why would Adam return so soon, let alone through a window? Near silent footsteps made her change course to the kitchen where she took out a pair of knives and waited tensely.

Finally Jack the Ripper entered with his old knife and Adam's dagger, which he'd left behind. He still looked a bit confused as to why he wasn't dead but the dark smirk on his now scarred face still made him seem murderous.

"How did you find me?" Jaylyn got into a fighting position.

Ripper stepped forward unafraid. "Your friend should look over his shoulder more often. It was only too easy to wait until I could get you alone... Now, let's make this simple. No one attacks me and lives, let alone a female, I am going to gut you like an animal and you need to pray that finishes you quickly."

"I killed you once." She replied, though she knew she wasn't in any condition to stand a chance of beating him again.

"Lucky shot." Ripper started walking to the left before spinning around and lunging right.

Jaylyn barely had time to dodge his knife before deflecting Adam's dagger from her face. Ripper glared furiously at her before kicking her back and quickly slashing at her wrist, leaving a deep crescent that sprayed blood. She dropped one of her knives and gritted her teeth in pain before backing away, blood was seeping through her wounds from the other night from the strain of fighting and Ripper was giving her a triumphant look. She nicked his artery with her own knife as he closed in again but it wasn't enough to kill and soon both of his blades had created gashes across her face and collar bone, the knife getting stuck slightly in the bone. She continued gave a shout of pain before sending her knife deep into his body just below the sternum.

Ripper jerked back and gave a howl of pain and rage before driving Adam's dagger into the wound on her shoulder and ripping down to the one on her chest all the way to the wound on her abdomen. It was like connecting the dots. Blood rapidly rose up from the deep slice and Jaylyn stood there in shock for a moment before collapsing in a bloodied heap. She felt him stab the knife into her spine and scrape bone before leaving it there to continue his work. By the time he was nearly finished her skin was barely visible from under the blood, some of which was from his wound, and she was pretty sure she had more gashes than actual skin left. The good part was that she had become almost numb to the pain as she bled out and the last thing she remembered was Ripper preparing to cut out her eye and slit her throat.
