April 15, 1985

Jaylyn had enjoyed the peace and quiet life of Texas for years and hadn't been tracked down by Adam, if he even cared about her anymore. That question was answered for her however when she unlocked the door to her house only to be dragged inside and twisted onto her back so she was looking up at her attacker: Jack Sladen. She swallowed as she saw the fresh blood on his clothes; it worried her to think he could've killed an innocent person. As he brought up his knife however, she saw black and white fur clumped in with the blood... he had murdered her cat.

"What do you want?" She hissed, ripping herself away from him.

Ripper pretended to ponder the thought. "To get back at you, it's fun to kill you, the list goes on but the main reason is to deliver a message."

"Then deliver it and leave." Jaylyn growled.

"Aww, you don't even want me to tell you how I found you?" He asked with a wicked smirk. "It wasn't easy you know."

"Say it and be done."

She jumped back as he took out a knife and twirled it in the air, a dark grin still on his face. "Then perhaps I'll just tell you went you're in a better mood..."

Jaylyn backed away and darted for the drawer where she kept her gun, too slowly, the blade bit coldly into her back, scraping against her spine. She gave a pained scream and tried to retaliate before having her head slammed into the corner of the hallway. Her vision darkened and her eyes rolled up into the back of her head as she went limp. Not quite unconscious yet, she could still feel it as Jack ripped the knife from her flesh and slit her throat. Warm crimson blood spilled out for a moment before disappearing along with her body.

It took her nearly an hour to get home, luckily she had the sense to still keep clothes by the nearby lake, and the warm air quickly dried her soaked figure. She didn't go back into her house however, as she didn't want to be killed again, and waited outside until Ripper got bored and joined her outside.

"Are you in a better mood?" Jack questioned, which Jaylyn responded to by scowling. "Fine... you're no fun... Adam needs to see you. He found something, or someone, I really didn't care... the point is you need to catch the next plane and join him immediately."

"Why does he need me?" She snatched the plane tickets from him before drawing out of arms length.

Jack glared at her. "You are his favorite, I still don't understand why you are; I'm the one who helped him finish the jobs. You did nothing... but he asked for you."

"Must be something you're bad at then, like keeping people alive." She smirked before going inside to get some things for the trip, looking at the times on the card she had an hour to get to the airport, hopefully she could get rid of Jack before then.

Later that day...

Jaylyn had gotten a rented car and was currently on some well worn road looking at the directions Adam had also had Ripper give her. The fading sunlight was making it a bit harder to read but as the road she was on didn't have any intersections she just had to keep going until she found the house. Why he had to live so far out of the city she didn't understand, well she didn't understand why he needed her to actually be there either, couldn't he have just searched for her number and called? The old tension was coming back the farther down the road she went, already she was thinking about how Adam would drag her back into his bloody world to kill others with him.
