As the light finally settled, I found myself in a field, with long, swaying grass in every direction. Looking around, I noticed few distinctive landmarks. If I squinted, in the distance I could see tree's, but aside from that there wasn't much to see.

Never had I been in a field so large, it was like man hadn't touched it.

I decided to explore, wandering around and occasionally finding signs of life, like a particular pathway cut into the field made up of squashed grass, as though someone had ran across it.

This world didn't really seem real, yes I could feel the coolness of the air, the movement of the wind, but it didn't really effect me.

It didn't take me long to realise this was some kind of vision or illusion like the ones I had previously had.

So where was I?

It didn't take long to cross the field, having used my speed to cut across.

When I broke through the treeline, I finally found what seemed to be an area of settlement.

There were fires burning amongst logs, surrounded by old homes that looked as though they had grown from the land.

I recognised this place from a vision at once. I had been here once as Seraphine.

Judging by the scenery, I guessed that I was still in England, perhaps 1,500 years ago.

I never thought I would live to see the past, but it seemed that had happened.

From the vague lessons of history I had suffered through as a child, I knew that this time would coincide with the first wolves. In a time where magic was common but frowned upon, it was guessed that an experiment went wrong when trying to turn a human into a wolf using magic as a punishment, which would explain why wolves often have a temper.

I was aware that this was approximately the start of the middle ages, and to the humans, a time of invasion by anglo-saxons.

There were many people around, none of whom seemed to notice me, which I suppose was a good thing considering my exceedingly futuristic clothes.

I could still sense things here, and I could tell that many of the people here were human, living among the wolves. I briefly wondered if they knew what the others could do. I could assume that if they did know, they thought of them as protectors, but then again, perhaps they were kept in the dark.

This was a time before packs really isolated themselves from the human population.

One of the fires slowly sizzled out, and while I watched,  a slight feeling of sadness washed over me at the sight before it was suddenly burning bright again.

I blinked, did I do that?

Looking up, I was shocked to see a girl in the distance, also staring at the fire before turning away.

I instantly recognised her. Seraphine.

She looked like me, only stronger and with more purpose. She was clearly a warrior, she was clothed in what would be the finest clothes around in that era, thick fabric that stayed in place as she moved, it looked heavy but she was blissfully unaware of that.

She had dark red hair that flowed down to her waist, and from the thin strips of skin that I could see, I could make out the tattoos which I had previously seen from a first person perspective.

She stood with confidence, and behind her I saw a vast group of men and women dressed similarly to her, though they wore less and were clearly a lower rank.
