I slipped into my armor a pair of riding boots and headed down for the stables. I walked in to find Elsa getting her horse ready for our ride.
"So." I said apparently breaking her out of some sort of trance. She jumped a little at the sound of my voice.
"Oh! Elizabeth. You startled me."
"I think that is the first time I have ever heard you use my actual name." She laughed.
"Yeah. I guess so."
"Where to, your majesty?" I asked teasing. As I mounted my horse.
"Where ever you wish to take me." I rolled my eyes.
"Whatever your majesty."
We rode down the fjords and into the woods.

After a good three or four hours we decided to stop and give our horses a chance to rest. We sat in silence for a while until I heard Elsa ask.
"Why?"
"Why what? "
"Why did you leave?"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, Why did you leave us all those years ago and then never come back?"
I sighed.
" I didn't want to leave. But, after the incident with Anna. I was forced to go home. Then um... then my um... my parents were killed. So I was crowned queen and then... I just got so caught up in everything... I'm sorry. I should have tried to come back and see you. "
"I'm sorry about your parents." A twinge of sadness filled her eyes.
"And I'm sorry about yours. But, I'm here now, and that's all that matters." She nodded and leaned her head on my shoulder.
God I love you. I thought.
"What?" She asked.
"Wait... you heard that?" My eyes went wide.
"I think so. It just depends on what you said."
"What do you think I said?"
"That you love me." Oh shit. I can't take it back now. I sighed.
"Yeah. I thought I had said it in my head but, I must've said it aloud on accident." We sat in silence for a while.
"I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable." I said.
"You didn't make me uncomfortable... I'm just not quite sure how to respond. Except with... I love you too."
My eyes went wide. Did she just say what I think she said? I tried to keep my composure.
"Y-You do?" I stammered.
She gave a slight nod and stared into the ground.
"I wasn't sure until the moment in the library. Had we not been interrupted, I'm quite certain I would've kissed you." I blushed slightly.
"So... What do we do now?"
"I do not know."
"We couldn't be together. The council wouldn't approve and besides... You need someone who can help you conceive an heir. You can't have that with me. Maybe it would be best if we didn't act on our feelings."
She simply nodded. I turned to look at her. Her head was still on my shoulder but tears were streaming down her face.
"I'm sorry... I didn't mean to make you cry..."
She shook her head and wiped away her tears. I did what anyone would have done and kissed the top of her head.
"Whether we act upon them or not doesn't change the fact that the feelings are still present. And, Fire fly, I don't care what the council says... I can love whom ever I please. And there is nothing they can do about it."
I smiled as a tear began down my face. I wiped it quickly before she noticed.
"You're right, Snow flake." I pulled her head up off of my shoulder with my fingers under her chin. "It doesn't matter what they say." I pulled her close and she pressed her lips to mine. I didn't expect my lips to move ad in sync as they did. It was like something took over. Something I wasn't in control of. But it took over me and it terrified me. I pulled back and pressed my forehead to hers.
"Wow... it's a dream come true."
She looked at me confusingly.
"Never mind. We should um... we should head back to the castle."
She nodded. We mounted our horses and headed out.

Elsa's P.O.V
----------------------
When we got back to the castle we stayed in silence. I tried to talk to Elizabeth but, she shut me out. Now I could see how Anna felt for 13 years. I eventually gave up and ran to my study.
I curled up into a ball on the couch and cried. For hours it felt like. Then there was a knock at the door. It was Anna.
"Are you okay, Elsa?"
I wiped my tears and looked up at my sister.
"What happened on your ride with Fire fly?"
I burst into sobs. She came over and tried to console me.
"We kissed." I managed to whimper.
"I knew she had a thing for you. I just didn't know the feelings were mutual."
My sobbing ceased and I looked up at her.
"You knew?" She laughed.
"It was obvious! The way she looked at you. It wasn't hard to figure out. Then in the library, well that just glued all of the pieces together."
"Should I go talk to her?" I asked
She nodded. "But the thing is, she has... shut me out."
"Ah... I know the feeling. But I think you should talk to her anyway. Maybe she'll open up to you."
I nodded and rose to make my way to Elizabeth's bedroom.
