"Your majesty. You must find a sutior to conceive an heir for the future of Arendelle!"
Elsa rolled her eyes and rubbed at her temples. Obviously warding off a migraine.
"I understand. But why do I have to find a random man to take me to bed when I could find someone I love."
"We don't have for you to find love your majesty. We must have an heir soon."
I couldn't take it any more.
"Your majesty, if I may speak freely?" She nodded.
"I don't see why we need to pressure Elsa when we have Anna who in a few short months will be married to Kristoff and able to produce an heir them selves. That will give Elsa time to find love and produce out of that love instead of out of just responsibility." The room fell silent until a council member spoke up.
"I agree." The rest of the group followed suit.
"Alright." Elsa spoke up. "We will talk more about this at the next meeting. For now, You are dismissed."
Everyone filed out of the room I stayed behind with Elsa.
"God! I don't know how you live with those... those-"
"Imbeciles." Elsa suggested.
"Yes! Exactly."
I was getting flustered. All the talk of forcing Elsa to conceive an heir, for some reason, rubbed me the wrong way.
"You are getting way too flustered over this, Fire fly."
"Maybe I am, but I'm just trying to protect you."
"Why?" She asked. Stupid question.
"Because I'm your personal guard. It's my job to protect you."
"No, there is more to it, you just don't want to tell me."
"There is nothing to tell."
She gave me a look that I hadn't seen since we were children. A look that would make me succumb to pretty much anything.
I groaned. "Fine. I want to protect you because..." I didn't know what to say because I wasn't even sure what I felt. But, apparently she did. She stood to face me. She placed her fingers under my chin. Forcing me to look into her eyes.
"There is something you aren't telling me. What is it?"
"I-uh- I..."
"Shh..." she pulled me closer and pressed her lips to mine. It caught me by surprise but I didn't stop it. When she finally pulled back she kissed my cheek.
"Woah." Was all I managed to say.
"Was I right? Is that the reason you wanted to protect me? So you could have me all to yourself?"
Before I could answer, I awoke from my pleasant sleep to a knock at the door. It was Gerda.
"Time to get ready, Lady Elizabeth! "
I groaned and rolled off of the bed.
"What events do we have set for today, Gerda?"
"Well, the Queen has the day off and she wanted to know if you would be willing to go on a ride with her."
"Is that even a question?"
She laughed.
"I guess not. I'll prepare your bath."
"Psh! Nonsense! I can prepare it my self. You go down and have some breakfast."
"Are you sure?"
"Positive. You deserve a little time off and to your self with all you do for this family."
She smiled shyly.
"Thank you, but I don't think the Queen would approve."
"Don't worry about her. I'll deal with that dragon when it gets here." She nodded and headed out the door.
