Y/n and Hermione walked into the courtyard instead of going to lunch "So, what was that about this morning?" Hermione asked "What?" Y/n tried to act oblivious as they sat on the bench under the large tree "Dumbledore sending you to his office?" Y/n bit her lip, she didn't want to lie to her best friend but Draco told her to stop telling her about what goes on between them "I was leaving the boys dorm this morning" Hermione eyes widened "Why?" Y/n tried to thing of a way to not lie but also not tell her why "Draco just wanted to talk about something stupid, some assignment" Hermione raised her eyebrow in suspicion "An assignment? Early in the morning?" Y/n nodded and Hermione just giggled and opened her book. Her and Hermione were studying through lunch and they had no class after that so they stayed in the courtyard. "Sorry to interrupt..." Y/n looked up and Draco was standing above her with his hands in his pockets, his expression was cocky but irritated "What Malfoy? I'm not in the mood for your nonsense" she looked back down at her book and stiffened her back "Let's talk, privately" he demanded and she huffed, putting her book down and walking away with him. He took her into a private area by the courtyard, she leaned her back against the wall and crossed her arms, he stood in front of her "So, what did Dumbledore want?" she tilted her head "Asked me why I was seen leaving the boys dorm, nothing crazy" Draco shook his head and licked his teeth "Don't be smart with me mud blood. What did you say? Did you tell him? I swear mud blood-" she raised her eyebrow "You think I'm stupid to tell Dumbledore what really happened? I actually lied, I told him I was getting something and he tried to get the truth out of me. I saved your ass Malfoy, I took the heat for you, you prick" he nodded "Good" he looked like all the weight was lifted off his shoulders "You are an asshole, I just said I took all the heat for you because I know what would happen to you if I said what happened, and all you say is good? I should have said I wasn't alone" she tried to walk away but he grabbed her and put her back against the wall, his arm was on the wall above her as he leaned down to her ear "I'm not going to thank you mud blood. But it's good you lied, that means we just have to be more careful next time~" he whispered and she bit her lip "Who said there would be a next time you asshat" he smirked again and lifted himself away from her "I said mud blood, now head back to Granger. I don't want to keep you away from your studies" she lifted her back off the wall "Like you give a shit~" she mumbled as she walked away. She felt Draco's eyes on her as she walked away, she flipped her hair behind her as she walked back into the courtyard, sitting back on the bench with Hermione "Let me guess, that was also about an assignment" Hermione said with a giggle "Something like that" Y/n picked up her book "You know, I don't care about yours and Malfoy's odd hatred romance mess, I would just prefer you didn't lie" Y/n took a deep breath, she felt terrible trying to lie but she didn't want people to talk or worse, hex her for it, she knew Pansy would try, but look how that turned out for her. "I know, its just, confusing. There is far from romance between me and him though, he's vile and makes my blood boil" she looked up and saw him walking past the courtyard, his hair and grey eyes started to shine from the sun, his skin glistened like sparkles, her breathing started to become heavy as they looked into each others eyes "He is a terrible person, I could never fall for him and his cruel ways" his lips curled into a smirk as he slowed his pace, almost like he could hear her speaking about him "I would ask someone to cast curcio on me if I felt any romance for him..." she gasped as the air in her lungs was pushed out, watching him stroll away as his hand ran through his hair, making it drop above his eyes, his hands slowly slipped into his pockets of his suit, he hardly ever wore the uniform, always that black suit, that damn suit. "I am thrilled for the ball soon, have you been practicing?" Hermione asked "No, the last time I practiced, well..." Y/n shook her head "I'll just have to wing it" she finished her sentence "I would suggest practice, ask Blaise, he would be delighted I bet" Y/n gave a smile. Her mind roamed as they walked through the corridor to head to their last class, care for magical creatures, it was a new class this year, Hagrid was still as nervous as the first day he taught it. Her and Hermione walked down the path with other students to Hagrid hut. "Evening children" Hagrid said as he walked out of his house, all the students piled by his house "Hey guys" Ron said as he walked over with Harry "Hey" Hermione greeted them back and Y/n gave them a smile, but it slowly faded as she saw Draco approaching the group. "Alright, everyone is here now. Today I will be making groups of three, you all will be given a piece of parchment, your group will be sent into the forest and you will need to find three different types of footprints from a creature" Hagrid instructed, she stood there, hoping Hagrid wouldn't pair her with Draco's group, for once she wanted a break from him. "Let me get yeh pared up now...team one, Potter, L/n, and Zabini" Y/n sighed with relief but she wanted to be with Hermione, Harry would have to do. "Team two, Malfoy, Weasley, and Goyle" Ron groaned and she could hear Draco and Goyle laugh "Team three, Granger, Parkinson, and Longbottom" Hermione and Y/n looked at each other "Good luck with Pansy~" Y/n whispered and Hermione rolled her eyes. Hagrid finished paring up the rest of the students and passed them all their assignments "Now, you each must find one of the three, since there are three of yeh you each will find one each. Good luck and if you see anything unusual, quickly exit" Everyone looked at each other, scared even "Don't worry, I made sure to take a clean sweep of the forest, well, most of it at least" that really didn't make any of them less scared. Y/n walked between Harry and Blaise, she had her want out incase they did encounter something unusual, she didn't want to take any chances, it was the forbidden forest. "What exactly are we looking for?" Blaise asked "Creature foot prints" Harry said "Brilliant, that will be impossible" Blaise added as he kicked dry leaves "Just use your eyes you idiots" Y/n joked as she walked ahead of them, the boys looked at each other before following her. "See I found one" She kneeled down on the ground "Who wants to mark this one down?" she asked as she stood back up "I will" Blaise walked over and she stepped away as Harry and Blaise kneeled down by the foot prints. Y/n heard a noise, she snapped her head and saw a black shadow bolt behind a tree, she narrowed her eyes as she stepped closer to where it hid, before she knew it she was away from her group and wondering the forest alone. She wanted to know what that black shadow was, but the voice of Hagrid entered her mind when he told them to quickly leave the forest if they saw anything that shouldn't belong, but she couldn't help it, she was a Slytherin after all, no one tells her what to do. The forest started to darken and mist started to blind her vision, she coughed from the thick mist. Another rustling sound appeared from behind her, she quickly turned around and squinted her eyes to try and see though the mist "Who is there?" she shouted, then her mind begun to throb with pain, causing her to drop to her knees, her hands gripped her head as the pain worsened, voices entered her mind, like the voices she used to hear after her parents died, those degrading dark voices. It felt like someone had their fingers in her brain, slowly pushing them deeper, the pain was excruciating. Y/n let out a scream and the pain stopped, she tried to catch her breath and stand but she felt to weak, her eyes slowly looked up and a large black figure slowly glided toward her, she tried to lift her wand but felt frozen with fear. "Weakling" the deep voice echoed, sending shivers along her body, the pain started to erupt in her mind again, causing her to fall to her side, she screamed and seized at the pain "Please...stop!" she shouted over and over until there was more rustling, then silence. "Y/n!" someone kneeled down and she was to afraid to look "Look at me" his voice was quiet and out of breath like he had been running, she slowly looked up and Draco's expression was frantic and worried, she sat up and her head snapped in all directions "Where did it go?" she said as she sucked back her tears "What did you see? what did this to you?" his hand cupped her cheek and she flinched "Hey, look at me~" her head stopped as she looked into his eyes "What did you see?" she narrowed her eyes with fear as she breathed heavy. "How-How did you find me?" she asked as he helped her up "I heard screaming, I must have been close" she nodded and tried to walk but she let so weak that she stumbled into him "Carful mud blood" he wrapped his arm around her waist and she put her arms around his neck "let's get you out of here" he walked her out of the forest, all of the students were standing by Hagrid, as Draco walked her closer they all looked over "You found her, thank goodness" Hagrid said "What happened?" he asked, Y/n's head flopped onto Draco's shoulder as she was to weak to keep it up "I think its best she lies down before she is bombarded with questions " Draco snapped and Hagrid nodded before he was about to grab Y/n but Draco started to walk her back to the castle, everyone stared in confusion, but Hermione just smiled.
