Isaiah's POV

"So how much trouble did you get into?" Iri questions from beside me.

I smile looking in her direction. Reaching for her hand I interlock my fingers with hers, bringing our hands down onto my lap, under the school lunch table.

"Not as much trouble as you think."

She immediately attempts to let go of my hand, pulling it away from me, seeing how we're around everyone else. We're currently at school on our lunch break and I've been dying to get my hands on her since I last saw her two days ago.

I last saw Iri after our date back at the warehouse but kept my eyes mainly to myself for my fathers sake and then ended up missing school yesterday to go on a trip with my dad and grandpa, and came to school late today in between fourth period.

My 18th birthday is in a couple days, this Sunday actually, so of course my family is going all out for my birthday/initiation into the faction.

It's also why my dad has been dragging me around with him and my grandpa to their sit downs so I can start learning and picking up on things, and also so that my father can personally invite his most favorable people over on Sunday, before dinner, the initiation.

Sunday morning/midafternoon is when I actually get initiated into the famiglia. It's where I have to prove my loyalty to the faction and the boss, aka my father and become a made man.

I'm honestly a little more nervous about having to finally take a life in front of an entire crowd, rather than getting my face beat in by multiple men.

"Can we talk in private?" I whisper into Iri's ear.

She immediately nods her head. I let go of her hand letting her get out of the school table first and climb out after her.

"I'll catch you guys after school," I say over to the twins.

They both nod simultaneously.

"You good?" Irvin frowns.

I nod and point towards Rigo and Cee Cee, "make sure they get to class on time."

"I'm not a baby, I don't need a baby sitter," Rigo immediately grumbles under his breath.

"Then stop getting tardy slips," I say. "One more and you're in Saturday school, Rigs. You know if that happens your mom is going down your dad's throat and he's going to go bitching to my dad and then he'll be down my back about it. Make it easier on all of us please."

He doesn't say anything in return, he rolls his eyes looking away, softly shaking his head.

Rigo likes to walk Ciana to her classes after every break we have and sure enough his classes just so happen to be on the opposite end of the school.

Apparently he's been getting late to his class this whole entire week that the attendance clerk called me into her office this morning while I was checking in to let me know he's two points away from having to go to Saturday school, and that's one call she really didn't want to make after everything that just happened last week with my dad.

Iridiana squeezes on my hand as we continue to walk away from the group. "You okay?"

I nod my head silently pulling her in the direction of her next classroom. She pulls on my hand stopping me right before hitting the stairs that take you up to the second floor.

"Talk to me, Izzy. What's going on?"

I frown not following.

"You're too pensive, is it about this weekend?"
