how did we end up here?
"yeah we're at the airport, our plane just landed."
my best friends from back home; michael and calum were coming to visit. they had flew in all the way from australia, and were coming to stay with us. i hadn't told luke yet, hoping to surprise them.
"i'll pick you up, i'm gonna start driving now." i replied and got off the phone with calum. luke was at coll's, having a movie day, so he was completely oblivious to what i was doing.
i was already in my car and made my way to the airport. it was a lengthy drive, so i played one direction, the aux cord plugged into my phone.
"OH, BABY LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE TO MEEEEE. BABY YOU GOT ME TIED DOWWWWWWN!" i sang along loudly, not caring how weird i looked to other people.

in the distance, i saw a bright redhead and a tanned raven-haired guy.
"ashton?" calum questioned jokingly, for dramatic effect.
"calum, it's me!" i called out, playing along.
we ran towards each other, hugging like in the movies. michael stood off to side, awkwardly rocking back and forth on his heels.
"i've seriously missed you, mate." i tell calum once we've calmed down.
"i've missed you quite a bit as well." he shrugs, and laughs at my expression.
i shift my attention to michael, pulling him in for a nice hug.
"we sure have been missing you, ash." michael said as we embraced.
lax had a nice variety of places to get food from, so we stopped by McDonald's and got a large French fries.
once we got our food and headed back to the civic, i decided to tell them about what's been going on.
"just so you guys know, i have a roommate named luke. he's really cool and i'm sure you guys will like him." i said casually, as i drove with calum in the backseat and michael in the passenger seat.
"any love interests?" michael smirked, wiggling his eyebrows.
i blushed and stayed silent.
"who?" he inquired again, intrigued by ashton's reaction.
"luke." i manage to utter out.
michael gasped.
"your roommate?" calum asked out of curiousity.
"yeah." i mumbled.
calum was not willing to let it go.
"how romantically involved are you?" he said quietly, trying not to make me back out of telling him.
michael sat up, paying attention once again, staring at me expectantly.
i sighed, realising they wouldn't stop until i told them. the only reason i was so hesitant in telling them is because they were protective and they had a history of not liking my previous girlfriends and boyfriends. well, that may have been my fault for choosing bad people, but their protectiveness certainly didn't help.
"he's my boyfriend." i said, gripping the wheel. "and before you guys jump to any conclusions, you should meet him first."
the two nodded, staying quiet for a while.
i stared straight in front of me, keeping my eyes on the road and not daring to look at either of them.

"this is the dorm!" i say while they step inside.
instantly, the two were looking for food.
"if you guys are that hungry, we can order something." i suggested casually, knowing they would be more than happy to oblige.
they nodded eagerly.
i grabbed my phone and dialled the number of a local pizza place.
"so how is the l.a life?" calum asked, my two best friends sprawled onto the couch, watching how i met your mother.
i sat down in between them, putting my arms around both of them.
"it's great."

"ash, me and coll are home!" i hear a certain blonde's voice call from the door way. a smile tugs at my lips and get up to peck him on the mouth.
coll 'aw's' while the two of us kiss.
"i have a surprise for you." i say, my voice higher in pitch, due to my excitement.
"michael and calum are here to visit! and they're staying for 2 weeks!" i show luke and coll the two guys I've known all my life.
luke nods knowingly, i've mentioned the two a couple times.
michael smiles, waving awkwardly. i notice calum smiling widely and blushing, looking directly at coll.
luke also notices coll turning red, and smirks. we know what's up.
"i'm michael." the red head calls from the couch, getting up and heading towards luke, coll and i. he shakes luke and coll's hands, and i'm pleasantly surprised with how social he's being.
then the tanned kiwi boy stood up, his face slightly red.
"Hi, im calum." he shook luke and coll's hands.
"i'm colleen. but you can call me coll." she winked, trying to be her normal cool self, but i could totally tell she was nervous.
right then, a knock on the door was heard.
"pizza." calum, michael and i growled at the same time.
while coll and luke burst into laughter at our enthusiasm, calum answered the door, paying the guy quickly.
we all dug into the pizza, all super starved.
