Making detective

"Jamie Reagan" commissioner called out "promoted to detective after being a cop for five years congratulations Jamie" he shook his hand and went to sit down next to his family. After the commissioner called everyone else it was time to eat.
Danny gave the first speech to his "kid brother". Followed by Erin and pop. It was a night to remember except something was missing Eddie. He reambered earlier when she told him it was time with his family. At first he was mad Eddie didn't want to come but later he came to realize that he had been her partner for 2 years. And maybe she was upset she had to get a new one even though everyone knows the real reason. The ceremony ended with one to many drinks. Jamie had the best time he'd ever had at one of those things. He told his family thanks you for everything and headed out the door to Eddie place. It took twenty minutes to arrive at Eddie but now he is standing at her door. He knocked and waited
"Who's there?" He could heard her making her way though the apartment. "It's Jamie" he heard her stop before opening the door for him. "Jamie what you doing you are supposed to be at the bar for the after party" the truth be told she was glad he was here.
"I felt like something was off about the way we left things plus I brought pizza" he made his way through the door into the kitchen. He knew something was wrong with Eddie and would find out before he left her tonight. "So partner what have you being doing" he asked grabbing the remote and turning it to her favorite cannel. She smiled at how well he knew her.
"Nothing came back here after work this is how I plan on spending my weekend". He laughed and rolled his eyes knowing she wasn't kidding. They watched tv for about ten minutes before Eddie spoke again "how is this going to work Jamie? Do you start your new job Monday?" She looked over him still looking at he TV. The show ended as he reach up and cut the tv off. Eddie watching his every move. "I am starting my job Monday, Eddie but I am still your best friend it's not like we won't see each other." He watched her look away from him. "Yeah well its going to be weird not riding with you I mean you were my first and only partner" she makes an attempt to get up but Jamie stopped her. She looked at him surprised at how close they were. "I know Eddie but maybe this could be good for us" Eddies eyes got big staring at her ex partner and best friend. Her heart was beating out of her chest when he leaned forward catching his lips with hers. It was slow and sweet but not quite like there first one it was more demanding. Eddie pulled back needing to catch her breath. She blushed at how she was in Jamie lap trapping him down. He touched her face in attempt to making her stop being embarrassed. She smiled looking down at him 3 years ago she never thought it would come down to this. Jamie leaned forward again kissing her deeper. She did the same. But before it went any further Jamie backed away. She looked at him scared she didn't do something right. "Be my girlfriend" he said. Eddie blushed again and nodded. He smiled the biggest smile Eddie had ever seen. And kiss her again and went to put there dishes in the sick. He walked back in the living looking at Eddie sound asleep on the couch he looked over at the clock on her wall -3:45am- dang! he didn't realize it got that late. He walked over to Eddie and picked her up bridle style and carried her to her room. As he walked away Eddie grabbed his hand "stay with me" he turned and looked at her. Her eye were closed and she still had Jamie's hand. He laid down next to her kissing her cheek. It had been the best night of his life with his family than with Eddie. He felt Eddie cuddle down next to him. He finally closed his eyes relaxing.
The next morning:
Jamie rolled over taking in his surroundings. At first he was at alert but than realized he was at eddies. The covers next to him were made and he could hear the shower running. But after a few minutes it cut out and Eddie peaked into her room "oh your awake" she smiled. "Yeah morning" he said. She stared at him for a little while than walked in the room just wearing a towel. "Sorry I forgot my clothes". Jamie starred at her she was so Beautiful the way her hair was soaking wet. And she wear no make up he liked it better that way she was still breath taking. Eddie turned to see Jamie starring at her. She blushed and walked out of the room. He wonder why she was so embarrassed around him. He got out of bed while Eddie was getting dressed and made coffee. She walked out wearing some jeans and a black tank top with her hair in a messy pond tail. "So what you have planed for today?" She asked drinking the coffee he made. "Well I have to go home and Change and Danny wants me to do some kind of training with him." She nodded and said "well about last night I...." Jamie cut her off "Eddie I asked you to be my girlfriend and meant it" he kissed her and walked over to her door. "So ah what do I tell people if they ask?" He smiled at her "whatever you want your my girlfriend or best friend or ex partner" he tease. She hit him in the shoulder "girlfriend works for me" she smiled. "Yeah me to" he kissed her and walked out the door!
