It takes love to create a family

Jamie pulled up outside Erin's house, they had just got home one hour ago and went home to unpack now their getting Amy. Jamie looked over at Eddie who continued looking out the window. He reached over putting a hand on her thigh squeezing it just a bit.
"I know it's hard to pretend that everything's okay but for Amy's sake we have too, she hasn't seen us in 4 days Eddie and she's excited. We'll tell her the other things tonight after dinner." He tells her unlocking the doors jumping out. He walks over opening the door for Eddie taking her hand in his. They walk together through her lawn till they reached the front door. Jamie reached up and knocked.
"Amy you better hurry I have a surprise for you!" Eddie heard Erin saying muffled by the door. She opened it with a smile on her face.
"Hey! You guys look wonderful." She hugging them both but was pushed a side by a tiny little blonde when Amy realized who was home.
"JAMIE!! EDDIE!!" She jumped into Jamie arms but pulled Eddie into a hug at the same time. She was smiling ear to ear brightly.
"I missed you!!" She told them both.
"We missed you too sweet pea." Jamie kissed her cheek smiling over at Eddie.
Erin stood at the door admiring her little brothers little beautiful family. She didn't even what to imagine what will happen if that little girl gets taking from them.
"You ready to go?" Jamie asked her handing her over to Eddie so he could get her stuff. Amy nods and hugs Eddie around the neck laying her head on her shoulder.
"Were you good for aunt Erin?" Eddie asked rubbing her back.
"She was great Eddie bye Amy." Erin waved as they walked back over to the car. Jamie puts her car seat in the backseat and Eddie places her in it. Jamie walked back up to Erin's house and kissed his sister on the cheek thanking her. Eddie watched from the front seat waiting for Jamie.
When he returns he gets in turning to Amy,
"Let's get us ice cream and pick up a movie to watch at home what do you say?" He asks. She nods agreeing.
Later that night:
Eddie stood over the sink looking out of over the dark New York sky. She was cooking spaghetti for them both before they tell Amy about her father.
Suddenly a pair of warm hands wrapped around her waist.
"It's going to be alright." Jamie whispers in her ear.
"You don't know that." Eddie tells him back.
"Eddie look at me, Amy is going to be our daughter." He hugs her tightly up against him.
"Can't we just not tell her? Just play it out and never worry her." Eddie asks.
"Eddie we promised to never lie to her we can't just not tell her."
"I don't want to see the look on her face when we are telling her she might go away." Eddie looks over at Amy singing alone to the Brave movie songs.
"I know." He kisses her head as she goes back to making the food. Thirty minutes it was ready and they sat around the table talking about what Amy did while she stayed with Erin. Eddie watched as she explained when she fell down the stairs and she made a mental note to talk to Erin about that one.
"Can we play a game now?" Amy asked as Jamie picked up their plates.
"Actually Amy we have to tell you something." Jamie said as he walked back in picking her up and carrying her to the couch. Eddie followed behind him sadly.
"Okay?" She gave them both her attention smiling.
"Look nothing is official yet and we are going to fight this I promise." Jamie tells her and she shakes her head not understanding.
"Amy your real father he is back in town and he wants to meet you, sense he is your father he has a right to keep you if that's what he chooses." Jamie watched as all the information settles into Amy's head.
"NO! I DONT WANT TO MEET HIM!" She jumps out of Jamie's lap before he could catch her.
"YOU SAID I WOULD NEVER HAVE TO LEAVE!" Amy yelled at them both tears running down her face. Eddie stood in trying to clam her down but she took off running to her room. It was silent for a minute before Jamie stood saying he would talk to her. Eddie grabbed his head before he could leave.
"Maybe we just let her cool off first?" She tells him. Jamie looked at his wife with tears in her eyes so he sits down wrapping her up in his arms. Eddie let a few more tears fall and Jamie held her.
He glanced to see Amy coming out of her room again walking over to them.
"Im sorry." She climbed up in between them hugging Eddie as tears fell down her face too. Jamie held both of his girls tight that night hoping to God that he could do this forever.

The next morning:
Jamie walked out of his bedroom where he had carried Amy and Eddie when they fell asleep last night. He was going to make them breakfast before there meeting today with her father. Starting on the toast he seen Amy walk up she looked so tired and her hair was a mess. He reached down picking her up.
"Good morning beautiful." He kissed her cheek.
"Do we have to meet him today?" Amy said getting straight to the point.
"Yes sweetheart we do but you know what we are going to make it clear that your our daughter now." He try's to make her feel better.
"Your my daddy. I don't want a new daddy." She hugs him around his neck. Jamie smiled at her choose of words never imagining that it could make his heart beat so fast.
Eddie had just got out of bed when she heard this stopping right before you walk around. She slid down the wall feeling more tears, she didn't know what was wrong with her she has been feeling so emotional lately. How could someone just show up and take their daughter? Standing up whipping off the tears she decided not more crying she was going to set this man straight.

12:00pm:
Eddie and Jamie had agreed to meet with this man off the books to hopefully change his mind. He also wanted to meet his daughter. They were sitting in a cafe just down the street from Jamie's work place. It was a safe meeting place in public so nothing gets out of hand. They had just got here getting a seat and waiting Eddie sat up against the window, Amy was between them and Jamie on the other side.
"It's going to be alright." He tells them both putting a arm around Eddie and holding Amy's hand. There was a tall dark headed man who walked up to their table after ten minutes.
"I'm sorry to keep you waiting, you must be Jamie." He shook his hand.
"Yes, this is Eddie my wife and Amy." He pointed to them both. Eddie tried being nice with a small smile but Amy gave him a death stare.
"My name is Josh Hut nice to meet you all." He took a seat across from Eddie and Jamie.
"I know this all is surprising but when Amy was born I didn't know about her my ex she just put in the foster care system without even telling me." He tells them.
"Are you aware of what happened to Amy in that foster care system?" Eddie asked angry.
"I was informed."
"You were informed and yet you think this is right!" Eddie yells at him causing people to stare. Jamie put his hand on her back rubbing it trying to clam her down.
"What happen is unspeakable but can I ask you how you finally found out you had a daughter?" Jamie asked.
"Well my ex she got a hold of me after she got a call about what had happened to Amy, it was a mess up she wasn't supposed to get a call but she did and wanted me to know." Josh told him.
"Well now that you've seen her everything is okay now will you please just leave." Eddie asked.
"I can't do that Mrs. Reagan she my daughter I want to raise her better then what's happened already." He tells her.
"Well we have that covered all ready." Eddie said.
Jamie sighed at them both.
"We didn't come here to argue." He tells them.
"Hey Amy." Josh finally talks to her.
"Hi." She speaks shyly.
"I'm your father it's nice to meet you." He smiled at her. Amy slides in closer to Eddie.
"No your not my daddy. This is my daddy and this is my mommy." Amy tells him.
"Amy I knew your real mommy." He tells her.
"This is my real mommy!" Amy yells tears running down her face again.
"Okay this is enough." Eddie stands picking Amy up with her.
"This isn't over that's my daughter!" He tells Jamie with a finger in his face.
"Actually that's your blood daughter." Jamie tells him.
"My what?!" Josh asks angrily.
"It's you daughter by blood, she's my daughter by love there's a difference blood doesn't make you a family love does. From what I have seen today that's not what you care about, have a good day josh." Jamie turns walking out of the cafe after his wife and his little girl.
