Chapter 16 - Crashing into you.

I finish up my stream at exactly 14:00 (2:00 pm) and directly start with the uploading process because I know it always take a while.
In the meantime I grab my phone from the wooden desk and click on the homebutton so the screen lights up. I look at my homescreen, it's a picture of a beautiful sunset with palm trees that I took that one night I asked Erin if she would be my girlfriend. Even if it was a while ago it feels like it was only yesterday I held her in my arms. I look at today's date, 15th October, Erin and I got together in the summer. It's crazy to think that it was around 2 moths ago she left me, it's still hurts a bit to think about it.

I take a deep breath and push away the thought of Erin as I unlock my phone. I quickly read some emails and check Twitter, but nothing really new or interesting has happened. My phone then makes a noise and a text-message appears on my screen, it's one of the game developers saying that they need me to come to the office and look at one thing for Fortress Fury. I quickly answer that I will be there soon before I head to the bathroom for a quick shower.

I get out of the shower and dry my hair with a towel. Then I walk over to my bedroom with another towel wrapped around my waist and open my dresser, I pick out a pair of green shorts and a black tee. After that I get my car keys from the dining table and head out the door.   

Later...

I spend the rest of my day at the office working on Fortress Fury, we finally solved some bugs and got lots of more done.

I arrive home again at 19:00 (7:00 pm) after also picking up some groceries as the store.
I eat some leftover dinner from yesterday in front of the TV watching some random TV show. After I finish my food I get bored and pick up my phone from the glass coffee table and once again unlock my phone. I also once again check Twitter and replying to some tweets. I refresh my feed and see that Erin just tweeted a tweet with a link to a Instagram picture. I directly click it without even thinking and the picture loads up, it's a picture of Erin with her ex husband Jake. She has a blue dress on, some nice earrings, a headband and her red hair in a updo, she looks absolutely stunning. But she is standing close to her ex husband who is wearing a tuxedo and they look like a couple.
My body quickly gets filled with anger, real anger. She is back with her husband?! I read the text to the picture "Staying in LA for the weekend with this lovely man."

I slam my fist into the coffee table in front of me, this can't be happening, she's in LA! The aching feeling of a empty hole in my heart turns into extreme anger and sadness. A teardrop roll down my cheek and then drips onto my phone screen. I close the phone, put in my pocket and with angry and fast steps I grab my car keys and head down to my car. I need to go for a drive to clear my mind.

I drive fast, probably way to fast but I need to get away, I like to take drives when I'm angry, sad or just need to think. I turn on the radio and turn up the music pretty loud and just drive, I don't know where but somewhere. The sun has started to set but the sky is filled with dark clouds so you can't she the beautiful sunset hiding behind them.

I drive and drive, I don't know how long but probably around 40 minutes, all I know is that the sun has set and the sky has gone dark. The dark clouds I saw earlier is now pouring down rain making it hard to see the road clearly. Rain shatters onto my windows and the music inside my car is now playing on low volume, I'm on my way home feeling much better. The empty hole that turned into anger has now gone back to being a empty hole again and the only thing I do is miss her.

I'm only 15 minutes away from home when the weather gets even worse, the rain is now a mix between hail and rain which makes the road really slippy. I drive carful and slow to prevent any accidents. I stop by a traffic light with a black car in front of me, when the light turns green the car in front of me starts to drive and so do I. A second later out of nowhere I see a white car coming in full speed from the left, my heart skips a beat and everything turns into slow motion. I hit the brake as fast as I can with my feet and I can see the black car in front of me does the same but it's to late. The white car crashes right into the black car with a bang. I close my eyes and turn the steering wheel to the right and think I'm gonna crash into the black car in front of me and die.
But instead of crashing into the black car I land on the other right side of the road only a meter from the white and the black car. I open my eyes and take a deep breath, I'm alive.
