The newspaper crinkles in my left hand as I snatch it up and the first thing my eyes land on?
The newspaper headline.

"The biggest case in Indian history. The Supreme court hearing- THE STATE VS RUTVIK." and right under it... a picture of me. My hands being cuffed and my right Prosthetic hand covered in that black leather glove I wish I could burn.
I stare at it for a second, then drop the paper on the table like it just slapped me. Then my gaze shifts to the white canvas propped up in front of me with charcoal sticks, pencils, erasers and all scattered across the metal table like they're waiting for me to pretend I'm normal for five minutes.
I take a breath.
Mr. Verman doesn't even sit. He just stands there with his file under his arm, looking at me "Rutvik." he says, voice all calm-lawyer-mode, "I want you to draw the faces of every person from your orphanage who accused you in the bomb blast case. Every single one. Anyone who lied, anyone who pointed fingers, anyone who 'thought' you looked guilty."
I looked at him. He really wants me to do portrait sketching of my past trauma.
The room is full with his junior associates with their laptops open like they're in a press conference, a constable leaning on the doorframe pretending he's not listening, and the Investigating Officer standing with his hands behind his back, trying to act neutral even though he's the one who cuffed me last month.
