AN: Sorry if this story sucks, I’m really bad at writing in first person POV, so that’s why there’s times when it will switch to third person. ._.’

-Time Skip, 1 Hour Later, Kelly’s POV-

The Hokage had left quite a while ago, but I’m pretty sure I wasn’t alone in the room. There were probably a few ninja guarding the room in case I turn out to be a threat- I wouldn’t be a threat unless being extremely annoying is counted as one.

Which probably wasn’t. But they probably did want to kill me, seeing as I was before making animal noises… Moo. Now I was singing  ‘. I sang seriously, unlike how I usually acted.

“Ima dou shiyou mo naku tomedonaku afuredasu namida wo tadoreba

Omoide no naka ni iru anata ni aeru

Zutto doushitemo doushitemo sunao ni ienakatta kotoba

Hontou ni arigatou

Anata ni arigatou!!”

I took a deep breath, inhaling the pungent scent of hospital smells. I let it out in a sigh and leaned back on the soft pillow.

I didn’t notice one of the ANBU leave the room.

Third Person POV

The three ANBU inwardly groaned as the girl took a gulp of breath and started to sing. Surprisingly, though, the girl was singing well AND in Japanese! Albeit it was crappy Japanese.

“If I trace the tears that are helplessly, unstoppably overflowing now

I’ll be able to meet you in my memories

The words that for the life of me I was never able to come out and say

Thank you so much

Ah, the town where I grew up, cultivating reckless passion

Whenever things didn’t go right I stopped believing in myself

But then I saw you, working so hard you were sweating

And it captivated me, it saved me, time and time again”

The girl raised her hand to her chest and gripped the fabric of her shirt.

“I chased things I couldn’t reach and fell down like a fool

But you taught me the importance of not giving up

If I trace the tears that are helplessly, unstoppably overflowing now

I’ll be able to meet you in my memories

You enveloped me in an unchanging tenderness and strictness

Thank you so much

Not everything I’ve said or done has been right

But I did it with heart and passion, it was really embarrassing

When you showed me the way, I always talked back

Asserting myself, taking the long way round, getting lost

I rebelled and hurt myself, got carried away and lost track

And I think I learned a little about the importance of not giving up

If I trace the tears that are helplessly, unstoppably overflowing now

I’ll be able to meet you in my memories

The words I couldn’t say to you, who I love but hated

Thank you so much”

She smiled, not a grin, but small and sweet.

“I can run even when it’s hard to keep going

Surely, surely like you

If I trace the tears that are helplessly, unstoppably overflowing now

I’ll be able to meet you in my memories

The words that for the life of me I was never able to come out and say

Thank you so much

Thank you!!”

The ANBU snapped out of their daze and realized that this girl was singing in understandable Japanese when she had seemed not to understand what they were saying when they had spoken to her.  They looked to each other and nodded as one disappeared to go report this to the Hokage.

The ANBU suspect that this girl was a spy from another village, and was trained to hide her emotions by feigning ignorance. The Hawk masked individual almost snorted at her stupidity. Who would sing a song in Japanese when they pretended not to know?

~~

Rat teleported himself to the Sandaime Hokages office, appearing before his mahogany desk in a swirl of green leaves. The Hokage, as expected of the number one ninja in the village, was already staring at the ANBU. Rat nodded to him and kneeled down on one knee with his fist pressed against the floor and his head bowed.

”Hokage-sama.”  The ninja said modestly, waiting for invitation to begin explaining the situation.

“Yes, Rat? I assume this is about the girl I had you watch?” The Hokage asked solemnly. Rat only nodded.

“Yes, Hokage-sama.” Rat stood to his full height. “Approximately forty-seven minutes since you left, or about five minutes and twenty-nine seconds ago, the girl finished singing a song in our language. It was understandable and we believe she was tricking us by feigning her incomprehension.”

The Hokages brow creased in thought, and after a minute of thinking he looked up in seriousness. “Bring her here.” He demanded tersely.

Rat, again, disappeared in a swirl of leaves.

AN: I edited it to make her less of a Mary-sue, and I’ll continue this. I’m so sorry, guys!
