LxLight- Change of events

They sat at a table once Light was back to his former self as Watari made them all a meal.

"Light I spoke to your father."

"Oh yes, how did that go?"

"Well he accepts your sexuality and me. I explained with Kira and he was more concerned for your health than anything else."

"Well that's good."

"Light how's this experience been with you?"

"Well, before I collapsed I was practically screaming in my head my love for you," Mello rolled his eyes for he hated soppy things. "And there was a loud scream that I guess was from Kira. Throughout my illness, kira seemed sick too and was whispering things to me. He said he was dying and he needed L dead to recover. I would only be able to move if I let him take control and kill you. I didn't even know you weren't in the house but I refused so I stayed in that state. It went on for a while until something, I don't know what, happened and it felt like I was burning and Kira was screaming and then obviously, as you saw, he sat up and said that line. Then when I fell back Kira was gone and I haven't heard or found him since. I was just in a regular sleep and used the time to rest."

All the others sat around the table astounded and full of hope.

"Kira's gone?" So many of them said Light couldn't figure out who was the sources.

"As far as I can tell, yes." Everyone's joy was evident and so was Light's. "But what happened?"

"We burned the book." Mello said proudly and Light was gobsmacked.

"That's so obvious! Why did we never try that?" He asked L who looked as annoyed as he did at their stupidity. Half way through the meal L addressed some important matters.

"Boy's I've been wanting to speak to you for a while now." Matt and Mello's face grew pale. "No it's not about that yet. But I've wanted to say to you as I'm rather sure Light wouldn't mind but since we have a proper house now; I was wondering if you boys wanted to move in." All the others at the table dropped their food and Matt choked on his food.

"What like adopting us?"

"Yes I guess we would be your guardians but I didn't think you'd want to use that terminology not with your relationship with Mello." This time Light choked on his food from laughter. Matt blushed red but Mello wasn't fazed, he was too amazed by what could be happening.

"So this would be our home and you'd be in charge of us?"

"Yes." L looked at Light who was fine with the whole idea. It could be going a bit fast but they weren't adopting them as parents so Light saw no problem.

As soon as their meal was over Mello dragged Matt to the door ready to go and pack ASAP. But L stopped them at the door.

"I'll come for you tomorrow. Don't worry about telling them as Watari will sort it out. Keep it as

much to yourselves as you can as I don't want the others getting too jealous." Normally Mello

would love to put others down but he would always do whatever L said. Light carried Near out to the car and thanked him for taking care of him. Just before Matt and Mello were lead out of the door L put his arms around them and whispered quietly. "You two, be safe and be sensible." They knew what he meant and nodded as they walked out to the car. L and Light stood waving them away and when the car had turned the corner L fell in to Light's arms.

"I'm so glad you're okay Light." A single tear rolled down his cheek and Light lifted his face, wiping it away. He smiled and brought their lips together.

"It's just us now, no Kira." They both smiled and Light lead L inside and to their room. There was no sex just kissing and snuggling up together since Light had been ill they missed their time together. After a while, they finally tidied away Near's toys into a box, that was put in his future room. Whilst carrying the boxes in to the room they had their conversation.

"So how long have you planned for the boys to come and live with us?"

"I can't remember when I first had the idea. You are totally fine with it aren't you?"

"More than fine, I think it's great! I mean we're giving three orphan boys a home that they can feel more safe and comfortable in. It's not like we're becoming parents for them as well, you're already associated with them so it's great."

"That was it put perfectly Light. Besides the situation with Matt and Mello will be interesting to watch."

"Yeah what was with it with them?"

"I'm not entirely sure but they definitely have sexual intercourse together. I'm pretty sure that Matt has fallen in love."

"Does he have that look?"

"Yep. But Mello's harder to read."

"I see."

They went downstairs to watch a murder investigation film and pick fault at it. Watari brought them popcorn as they went through their movie marathon. But they weren't going to watch all of them...

"So Light, are you going to collapse this time?" Light smiled.

"No, I promise. But anyway the original agreement was when Kira's gone and um, that's happened." L also smiled.

"True." He grabbed Light by the collar of his shirt, pulling him up off the sofa as they kissed. Light lead L to the now tidied bedroom and picked him up. He fell into the wall as Light lent forward. L climbed out of his grasp and took the lead. It wasn't long until they were having sex.

In the morning they lounged around until 11 AM when the two quickly got dressed and headed over to Wammy's house to pick up the boys. Mello stayed at the window; his elbows propping up his head as he leant against the cold glass. Considering it was nearly christmas, there was still no snow despite the cold. Matt was too excited to actually concentrate on playing his video games so instead he just paced around the room twiddling his thumbs. Near was running from every window in the house as he couldn't stay still. When Mello saw the car driving down the driveway he found it hard to believe that it was actually happening. He grabbed his bags and ran down the stairs, knocking Matt over in the process. But he soon quickly got up and followed in his foot steps. They all stood at the door with their bags waiting. Mello stood in the middle and put his arm around Near, then kissed Matt's cheek making him blush. The other kids watched them curiously and was slowly beginning to crowd around them.

L and Light walked up the driveway, hand in hand until they got to the door when L needed to unlock it. The second the door was pushed open, the three boys stood around the door surrounded by their bags and the other children who all looked at them confused. Near ran at Light and jumped up on him clinging to his neck. Light stopped himself from falling over and then lifted Near up so he sat comfortably on his hip. Mello was close to tears he was so happy so he went and hugged L tightly.

"Thank you so much." L hugged him back.

"You deserve it Mello." Mello began to cry and so Matt came and joined the hug.

"L, what is happening?" One of the smaller children came and asked. This was what L dreaded. He loved all these children and he knew it would be heartbreaking for them if they thought he preferred some of them.

"If you figure out the whole story correctly then I'll give you a strawberry." Most of the kids scattered at that point to begin their reports but a few stayed to observe as they thought it would give them an advantage. With Near still attached to him, Light picked up Near's bags and turned to go out the door but waiting for L. "Come on boys, let's go." L helped them with their bags and they all got in the car together. near refused to leave Light so the seatbelt was but over the two of them.

A/N This s the end my lovelies! Seeing as there is a sequel to this it almost isn't the end! The sory will continue but it's a Matt x Mello story instead but L and Light are still involved so I'd advise going and reading that!!!
