~~~ Ed's POV~~~
After I saw Rae run after Jaira, I decided to leave. Yes, i know i'm no longer a student, but i come in to spend whatever little time i have left in the morning with Rae before I go to work.
I started walking down the hall and ran into Jason, I don't know how I feel about this guy, his vibe is weird and he seems off "Jason, right?"
he just looks at me, not saying anything "alright then? Anyway, do you know why Jaira was upset?" he just shrugs and walks off, leaving me standing there glaring at him, I just leave after that, texting Rae and telling her i'll see her later when I come to pick her up from school and head out to my car and head to work
~~~ Rae's POV~~~
I sit on the floor of the restroom as I wait for Jaira to come out, when I get Ed's text, I smile and text him back "Rae, can you see yourself without Ed?" she asked without warning, I immediately answer
"absolutely not" I say smiling as I look my lock screen, a picture I took of me kissing his cheek as he has whipped cream on his nose
"That's what I want...I want to be able to answer that quickly when I'm asked about someone. I don't think it'll happen ever again"I frown as she says that
"Sweetie... it'll happen. I promise, just don't worry about it.Trust me, he's probably closer than you think" I smile, hearing her eat her snickers "Aren't you glad I keep food in my locker?" I laugh a little and get up to throw my wrapper away, I hear her laugh and come out the stall with an empty wrapper
"Thank you" she hugs me tight, making me smile as I do the same "Of course, this is what I'm here for"
Afterwards we go back to class, and after I explain what happened to the teacher, he says were fine and to just take our seats. Whenever i see Jason, I glare at him for a few seconds and he just does the same, making me even more mad.
By the time the end of the day, Jason has made me uncomfortable staring at Jaira and I. When Ed comes to get us both, he goes to give me a kiss and i don't kiss him back, "What's wrong?" he asks concerned, i just point over to where Jason is in his car, looking at Jaira and I while he's on the phone someone. I see Ed's fist ball up, and i try to calm him down, telling him I'm ok and to just go to the car and let's leave
"Rae, no. Fuck no, I don't want you to feel uncomfortable because he's an asshole who gets off on watching people fear him"
"Ed, I'm not afraid of him. He's just an idiot, lets go" I grab Jaira's hand and take her to the car and we get in and get buckled in. After a few minutes, Ed gets in and doesn't say anything and we take her home, then go home ourselves
~~~ Jaira's POV~~~
When I get home, I go upstairs and change and immediately go out for a run, running into Jason as he's walking from his car to his front door, I don't say anything, but he does, and since I have my headphones in, I just run past him and try to clear my head, thankfully running does that for me
After about an hour, I come walking down my block, feeling good about myself again and ready to get through this week. When I pass Jason house, I see he's standing outside smoking, in just sweats, with no shirt, showing off all his tattoos, i try to get home before he notices, but it's too late, he sees me and smirks
"Like what you see Santiago?" he exhales and the smoke goes into the air
"W...what? N..no" Damn Jaira, get it together, just remember he does not like you!
"I'd beg to differ with that" he comes down to me and stands in front of me, making me gulp
"Whatever" I snatch his cigarette out his hand and throw it on the ground and step on it "Those are bad for you" i push him out my way and to my house and get up to my room and shower, leaving him dumbfounded in front of his house
~~~The next Morning~~~
~~~ Jason's POV~~~
I stand outside my car, smoking a cigarette , when Jaira comes out her house in jean shorts and a t-shirt, I inhale a little to much and start coughing , she notices and runs over and pats me on my back, then hits my back really hard "Ow! What the fuck?" she smiles and laughs
"Payback? Yeah, we'll call it that" she says right as her friends show up, she gets in and she's gone just like that
"This is gonna be a long fucking year..." I smile to myself and get in my car and head off to school
