Planet Vegeta was known to outsiders as the strictest place in the universe. The moment you stepped foot on the planet, you were bombarded by hordes of armed saiyans who would then proceed to fiercely interrogate you until eventually, you ended up telling them everything, from what business you had with their home, to what you ate for dinner a few nights ago...

Sadly, the entire planet followed similar rules and regulations. The saiyans were hardy people and if you were to ask a random saiyan what made them happy, you'd only receive a balnk stare in response.

However, if you were lucky, you'd run into the very rare saiyan who eagerly answer the question with a dreamy smile and flushed cheeks. They'd immediately answer that their bondmate made them happier then they've ever been.

Of course, you'd be confused. You were aware that saiyans were very instinctual creatures so of course they would have mates, or a chosen partner in which to breed with for the purpose of offspring, but you we're under the impression that mates we're commonly unfaithful and that there was normally no positive feelings associated with a mateship. It was all just duty to produce the next generation of saiyans.

Unfortunately, you'd be smacked a good one if you told this to the flustered saiyan. He'd furiously deny ever thinking of being unfaithful to his bondmate and accuse you of trying to severe his bond. Lucky for you, a few guards are able to restrain the saiyan who's eyes began to bleed red as his primitive mind urged him to eliminate you.

Undoubtedly confused, you are escorted to the palace and brought before King Vegeta who is quick to sentence you, a foreigner, to life in prison for trying to severe a bond between bonded mates. As you're being dragged away you scream that you had no idea what bonded mates were. This stops the guards short since the king orders it so. You are thrown before the king and he numbly asks if this was true. You furiously nod and he sighs.

Looking you in the eye, he proceeds to explain that bonded mates are two saiyans who are bonded through their individual souls through certain circumstances. You stare dumbly at the king and he rolls his eyes and mumbles something that suspiciously sounds like stupid human.

He tells you that most soul bonds are forged through life threatening experiences that happens to two saiyans at the exact same moment. Their energy levels flare and attempts to anchor itself to another energy level in order to combine and help the two saiyans survive.

You nod as if it makes sense and you secretly wish you humans had something like that on Earth.

The king then smiles as if thinking of his own bond mate. He tells you that the chance of the two bonded meeting each other is extremely rare, so when the meeting does occur, it isn't long until the two are mated and spend the rest of their lives together. His face suddenly darkens as he explains that once the bond is established, the two saiyans are filled with the urge to find something and if the urge isn't heeded, the two can and will eventually go insane due to their power being housed within a separate body and being so out of reach.

You dumbly raise your hand to ask a question and the king chuckles and motions for you to ask.

You ask the king how any romantic feelings could be involve since it's just the sharing of power that pulls the two together. Many of the guards in the room tighten their grip on their weapons and you try to make yourself seem as small as possible when you sense their murderous intent.

The king also tenses but he quickly controls his instincts and calmly tells you that a bond is only possible if the two saiyans have made a deep impression on each other which is hard in their world since emotions are tightly secured. He also further emphasizes that the possibility of meeting each other, leaving a deep impression, and being in a life threatening situation at the same time is extremely rare which is why bonded mates are so touchy about any slight notion that their bond is false or impossible.

You nod and thank the king for the information and promise not to be so reckless when it comes to asking about bond mates. The king warns you that now that you know, he can't do anything if you make reckless comments like that again which could cost you your life. You gulp and shakily nod as you're escorted out. You shakily return to your friends who question your whereabouts and you reply that you've returned with your life..

As soon as you left the palace, a young prince silently slipped past the guards who were watching you leave and mumbling about how much trouble humans caused.
