Prince Vegeta was many things and a prodigy was definitely one of them. The young prince quickly surpassed his Father, King Vegeta, and was hailed as the strongest prince Planet Vegeta has ever seen. It wasn't a surprise when the 9-year old prince easily slipped passed the guards that stood watch at the entrance of the palace. "Idiots, I refuse to feel at ease when those sorry excuses for guards can't even stop a child from leaving," the young prince angrily thought. Of course he wasn't just any child.
The prince expertly wove in and out of the crowd of peasants taking care as not to even brush against an unsuspecting saiyan. Even a single touch could have enough strength to bring hundreds of saiyans to their knees, and that would just be accidental.
Staying hidden was easy enough since he wore an average black cloak that kept his face hidden. It wouldn't be fitting to catch a prince in the act of escaping the palace. Just as the crowd began to die down a small hand caught onto his clock and Vegeta gasped when he was prevented from moving on. 'A g-guard caught up with me!?' Daring to turn around, Vegeta was shocked to see it was just a boy who seemed a couple of years younger than him. "Are you the prince?" Vegeta felt his blood run cold as the careless question caused a few nearby saiyans to turn to their direction. Vegeta secured the hood over his head and suddenly grabbed the boy, hefted him over his shoulder, and took off.
'Dammit! How can he tell I'm the prince? I didn't even have to show any strength for someone to be able to tell!'
A sour scent hit his nose and Vegeta came to a screeching halt. He was running so blindly that he didn't even notice that he ended up in the slums of the main district. "Ugh! This is horrid!" The prince placed gloved hands over his nose causing his grip on the boy to vanish. The saiyan boy fell onto the floor and merely seemed confused. "Does his Highness not like the smell?" The peasant boy tilted his head in question. Vegeta furiously shook his head and the child smiled. "Well if you don't like it, I can take you somewhere better!" The boy stood and made a move to grab the princes hand but Vegeta harshly smacked it away before he could realize what he did. 'Shit, I probably broke his wrist...' he thought.
Imagine his surprise when the child yelped and suddenly grinned. "Wow, you gave me a bruise! Cool, no one has ever done that to me before!" Vegeta could only gape as the peasant boy eagerly showed him his wrist that indeed sported a bruise that covered most of his wrist. Vegeta was shocked. Back at home he easily broke one of the elite guards wrist, though it was an accident because the man had invaded his personal space and Vegeta just wanted some room.
Being the child he still was, Vegeta spoke. "D-Does it hurt?" The boy nodded with that stupid smile still on his face. "Yup, but that's good! No one could ever hurt me before so isn't it like an honor to get bruised by the prince?"
That question fed the young prince's ego. "Y-Yes! It is a HUGE honor! Consider yourself lucky boy, because surely that bruise will stay for days!" Vegeta boasted proudly.
The boy cheered and suddenly rembered what he was going to do. Using his other hand he grabbed the prince by his hand and led him away from the slums. 'This boy, he can pull me along with him...' Vegeta thought. He grimaced at the boys choice of clothing. He wore tattered shorts and a long sleeved shirt that seemed a bit big for him. His feet we're bare and caked with grime.
'Well...he's definitely lower than a peasant...' the prince thought with a frown. Now the question was, why was he allowing himself to be pulled along by someone who was lower than the ground he walked on?
So lost in his thoughts, the prince jolted when a sweet scent hit his nose. The hold on his hand released and Vegeta stared in awe at the scenery before him. A tree stood large and proud before him, bearing a type of fruit that Vegeta never seen before. The boy laughed at his awe struck expression and ran up to the tree and patted it's trunk. "This is a peach tree! My great-great grandfather brought seeds from a far away planet and planted them here! I thought it smelled nicer than the Trench so, Taa daa!"
