It's been about two months since Collin and I finally became boyfriend and girlfriend. It was an open secret at this point, especially since I was posting our dates online. It caused controversy and a slight dip in the popularity, but once I introduced my newest line of Beelzajuice, known as "Poppy Pearl Peach", they all came back. Besides, Collin had earned enough respect for his efforts at my club, and the staff had all accepted him as one of our own.
The final moment that earned their trust was when one of our bartenders was having a rough day and messing up. Collin called him over, and he explained that he had heard the news that his mother had passed away. So what did Collin do? He sent him home, put him on leave (with pay) to be with his family, and said he would deal with me if need be. I just approved it right away.
That was the night Collin earned the complete trust of everyone in the club. Now they looked at him with respect, had lunch with him, asked his opinion, or came to him with problems if I was too busy. My boyfriend was now fully a part of our family, and everyone stood up for him if someone talked shit.
You tell him he's a bible thumping cocksucker? You're gonna be sipping only water from the bartenders.
You hope he gets raped and killed somewhere in a back alley? Security is gonna be on your ass and tossing you into an alley.
One angel, for some reason, had marched up to him when we were on a date in Purgatory and outright said he was going to burn in Hell for his sins. Collin ignored it, but then the angel called his Mom a whore of Babyalon? That's when he brought the Wrath of God.
I posted the ass kicking, and it was the fifth most-liked video I ever had on social media.
I never knew you could shove a halo that far into someone's mouth.
There was still the worry about Satan doing something, but so far, he had yet to do anything. Sure, there was a lot of negative press and media about me dating an angel, but I could handle it. I'm a nasty bitch anyway. I can get away with doing shit.
But outside of that? Everything was great. Our dates were wonderful; he was a gentleman, and I was hopelessly in love with him. He was sweet, kind, and liked me for who I was. There was no sex; I respected his wishes, but the kisses and hugs were enough. And the cuddles.
Oh, sweet honey. The cuddles.
You never know life until you cuddle in bed with a cute, fluffy sheep of softness.
So everything was fine. Great. And I-
"My parents want to meet you."
...Oh.
I look up from my office table, the paperwork I was working on now seeming insignificant compared to what I just heard: Collin had joined me to help after we closed the club for the night, and now he's decided to drop this bomb on me. I put my pen down and blink. "What?"
"Well, my parents know about us," Collin answers nervously as she pokes his hooves. "They were wondering if maybe you'd like to have dinner?"
"Uhh." My mind is blank. I know that in a normal relationship, most people meet their lover's parents. Especially since the goal of any relationship was eventually marriage and a family. But in the past, I never had to worry about that. Everyone knew who I was, and nobody was going to question it. I've had lovers before. Been married before, even. Most of the time, they had a bad relationship with their parents or didn't have one at all. The few I saw thought it best to stay out of our lives for various reasons.
This was...a first.
Collin is really giving me a new list of "firsts" ever since he entered my office all those months ago for a job.
