"So...these shots right here is what we used for your official head shots. And we did gain some interest from a few different clients..." I couldn't believe what I was hearing right now. I feel like I've just been getting some of the most unexpected news lately. But to know I tried my hand at modeling and it was already working out in my favor was the most bazaar feeling I've ever felt. "Iris?" Chuckie said that pulled me out of my daze. "I'm sorry...I think I was in shock for a m soment." Charles and Larry both laughed a little. "So...iomf you're interested, there is a tentative date for the Fashion Nova shoot." Larry said. "Let's do it." I said way too excited to even be able to contain my smile presently. Larry handed us some paperwork to look over and we both read it intensely. "Now of course, I can wait and you all can go over all of that with your lawyer and return it afterwards. I only would need this taken care of in the next 2 weeks so there's plenty of time." "Great, we'll for sure go over it with him and we will get back to you for sure." Charles told him as we all shook hands and bid our farewells. "I still feel like this is all unreal. Like a couple months ago we were just people with a dream and a strong determination." I said to Charles as we walked to the car. "You forget we have a lot of willpower and we been putting in that work. This literally is all coming out to exactly how we pictured life." he said and it's crazy but he's absolutely right. At 18 years old we've accomplished what most people could only dream of. Everything was changing so fast and I just knew we had to keep up with it. "Kudos to you though Babe. You came into this to just assist and now look at you." He said with a big smile on his face. And for the first time I had to realize that I was really getting somewhere. And it didn't have anything to do with the streets. Don't get me wrong, at the beginning and end of the day I'm a gangsta, but it is nice to be acknowledged for something else though. But a model though...I never seen this coming. But I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't grateful. Oddly enough I don't remember the last time I truly felt this feeling...or if I ever did for that matter. We got into the car and it almost felt like we were floating in the car. "Why you so quiet Love?" he asked me as I snapped out of my trance. "I just don't even know what to say. And for me being the one to always have something to say this is super weird. Like I'm a model. I just got booked for a legit gig for Fashion Nova." A smile spread across Charles' lips once I said that and then mine too. "Baby, that's just happiness, don't make it sound like a foreign concept." he said with a laugh. "You know, you are the sweetest asshole ever?" I said to him. "I'd like to think that it's part of my charm." We both laughed for a minute, for the first time I thought that everything is gonna be okay. I mean it was good before, but this right here, makes everything great! Like my heart and soul are tied into the game and that fact will more than likely always remain, but to know there's other good bread out here to be made was gold. We were somewhat quiet just about the whole ride back to the city. We were headed to the studio to have a much needed meeting with everyone since we need to reevaluate some things since we gave everyone their tasks to complete. Now to make sure it can effectively run if we aren't there consistently. When we arrived, we came through the back door instead of the front just to take a look without them knowing our presence right off. First, we approached studio 3 and saw Cinco was in the booth. We stepped into the room with Rodney but stayed away from being visible to Cinco. He actually was dropping something that sounded much different from what we were used to hearing from him, but also we see he chose to drop a snippet of a poem on his track. I remember hearing that poem as a kid and for some reason it stuck with me. When the poet said 'We taking because ain't nobody giving. America's a rich man's vision but a poor man's prison' he cut the quote there and then delved into his verse. It seemed like we were seeing more of a different side of him. Not soft, but more aware. His aesthetic gave very 'I'm a gangsta grandpa and I'm proud of it' but this was more along the lines of survival. He was telling his tale. I remember when Chuckie used to always come home and tell me about how he was watching Kev transform in front of his eyes from a gangsta, to a teen, and from that teen to a young man. I promise this was Cinco's evolution right here. I'm surprised it's arriving at this point, because I thought we'd struggle more with him, but I guess I didn't give Rodney the respect that he deserves. Him taking him under his wing, may have been the absolute best thing to happen to him. I feel almost humbled at the fact that we got him away from the team he was with. Don't get me wrong, we still doing our thing, but this could save him from his demise. It's already a tricky world to navigate and doing it under the influence could cost you everything! Honestly, I think I felt so strongly about this one because oddly enough he was like a little me. I saw so much of myself in him that it's crazy. I just could never tell if that was a good or bad thing.
