I was sitting on the couch with AJ and Rita as she played with him. She was so good with him for real. At times I felt myself wondering what it would be like if I would've had my child with her instead. Don't get me wrong, I don't regret Toy at all, but I just wish things were less complicated. After he got tired out, Rita slowly rocked him to sleep. She looked up at me and we locked eyes for the first time in a while today. "What's up Love?" she asked me and I shook my head. "Why you look at me like that then?" "No reason, you're just good with him." I told her. She softly laid him down on the couch and put a pillow beside him in case he would roll over. She moved closer to me. "You didn't think I would be?" she asked me. "I knew you would, but this surpassed even what I expected." I told her and she placed her head on my shoulder and I put my arm around her. "I appreciate the fact that you treat him the same as if you were the one that birthed him. That's rare mamas." I said to her softly. "I love kids, plus he's a part of you. I can't love you and not adore him." she said to me. "You could, but you're too solid to be like that." I said to her and she looked up into my eyes. "Point taken, lucky for you, you don't have to worry about that." "Yeah, lucky me." I said before I pressed my lips to hers. She wiped her lipstick off my lips after we kissed and then I kissed her cheek. "Tony...I have a question to ask you and I don't want it to be weird though." "Babes, you can ask me anything you'd like. Don't ever feel like you can't." "So what happens if I get pregnant?" she asked me and I was confused by her question. "I mean not like that...I'm not saying would you expect me to get rid of it or anything..." "Okay, cuz I was about to say the fuck?!" I said to her and she smiled a little bit. "No...I mean does that complicate the situation or...?" "That could never complicate a situation. You're mine, we are together. So together, we would be raising our child. Don't overthink it." I said to her. "Okay...but what would that look like? Like as of right now, it's like I'm on the si..." "No, you're not any side piece or anything like that. I told you, this is a whole relationship. Rita, to be real, I don't be thinking about Toya unless it has something to do with AJ. I mean I know I didn't completely wrap that situation up, but..." my phone started ringing and it was Adrianna. "Hold on one sec Love..." I said to Rita. "...Yes Ana." I said answering the phone. "Tony, don't you want to take your favorite sister to get some ice cream?" she said sweetly. "Aww so you're trying to lay it on thick, like you aren't my only sister." I said back to her. "Please!" she said as she pleaded with me. "Of course, we'll be there shortly." I told her. "Okay. Gracias mi hermano." She said to me sounding way too excited. "De nada." I told her and then I focused my attention back on Rita. "...So, no pressure, but you ready to meet some others that are close to my heart?" I asked her. "Really?" she asked me and I nodded at her. "Sure...if you want." She said as I got up and started to put AJ into his car seat and she went and grabbed her bag and we went and got into the car. I honestly think Rita was getting nervous the closer we got to my house. When I went to park the car, I grabbed her hand and kissed it. I looked back at AJ and his little eyes were open. "I'll grab him." she said as she got him out of the car seat. We headed to the door and when we stepped into the kitchen and Adrianna and my dad were sitting at the nook. "What's up Pops?" I said as he looked up and we shook hands. "There's someone I'd like you both to meet. Pops, Adrianna this is my girl Rita. Rita, this is my dad and my sister." "Nice to meet you both." She said with a smile. My dad stood up and smiled at her. "Nice to be able to put a face to the name. It's good to meet you as well." he said as I took AJ from her and allowed her and my dad to shake hands just as I heard footsteps approaching. "Tony you neglected to tell us how breathtaking she is." My mom said as she walked over and I kissed her on the cheek. "Nice to meet you Rita." My mom said as they hugged each other. "Nice to meet you as well." "I was wondering what was taking him so long in bringing you over to meet us. We've heard so much about you, I was almost beginning to think you didn't exist." My mom teased. "I've heard a lot about you all as well. I'm glad to finally meet your acquaintance." "You're so pretty." Adrianna said to Rita and you could tell Rita's heart just melted. "Why thank you. But I feel like I can't hardly hold a candle to how beautiful you are." she said as Adrianna hugged her and she embraced her back. I love how this was going. "Thank you." she said sweetly back to Rita. "You're so welcome sweetie. So...Tony tells me you have a big sweet tooth." she smiled at Rita real big. "So...you wanna go get that ice cream?" she asked her. "Oh Lord the child done swindled y'all into getting her ice cream?" My mom said. "Swindle is such a strong word. Coerced perhaps?" My dad said and we all laughed at him. "I see where Anthony gets his sense of humor from." Rita said. "Family full of comedians, I promise you." my dad said to her. "I hope you like to laugh sweetheart." My mom said winking at her. "So...can we go now?" Adrianna said. "So impatient." I said to taunt her. Rita knelt down beside Adrianna and looked at her. "This is how we're gonna teach your brother not to play about you. Now tell him like this: You forgot the reason why you came here?" she told her. "You forgot the reason why you came here?" Adrianna said with a little attitude and we all laughed at this. Ain't this some shit? "Ouuu I like you already. Get him together Rita!" My mom said. I see how this is gonna be.
