Previously on Far Away;
Thomas and Bella got back together but Chloe over heard a conversation between the two of them where Thomas said he "didn't want her here". Jake comforted Chloe while she was upset.
And that's what you missed on Far Away

The Carnival.

At first I was excited that our team won and I could go to this carnival with my brother and Thomas and the other friends I made on the team. Speaking of which, i officially made my first friend here. One that i made by myself without Thomas's help. Remember the short brunette on our scavenger hunt team? Well her name is Penny and she's one of my favorite people in the world.

Since I overheard Thomas on the phone with Bella he hasn't talked to me much. And I him. We just kinda avoid each other. Only talking when necessary or in class if we are partners. Honestly, I miss him so much. We had such a good friendship and now everything is almost beyond repair. I have no idea ow I'm going to survive two more months.

I guess this Carnival is a good way to end off my first month in London. But I'm not as excited for it anymore. Ever since Thomas and I stopped talking nothing seems right. Penny and Jake try to cheer me up -Jake only when we're at home since he wouldn't be caught actually caring in public. I appreciate it though. Even if it's only when we're alone. I've missed my brother and he way we were when we were in grade school. He changed so much the minute he walked through those high school doors. But now I can see his old self and its the only thing keeping me from breaking.

On top of everything it has been a month since I've been home in Canada. With Halloween coming at the end of the month I feel a pang of sadness at the thought of me and mum putting out the decorations. Halloween was always our thing and we went crazy every year. Our house was almost unrecognizable. I'm really going to miss that.

"C'mon Chloe it's time for the Carnival!" Jake says, poking his head around my 'bedroom' door.

"Do I have to go?" I whine.

"Yes Chlo, we've been over this." The simple use of his old nickname for me gets me up and out the door with Penny, Jake and Thomas who hadn't said anything besides "oh hi Penny."

The car ride was beyond awkward. Everyone was silent, just listening to the music playing in the background as Thomas drives. Penny hums lightly to each song, insanely well in tune. I guess she's a good singer.

All of a sudden the song 'shake it off' by Taylor Swift comes on and I get hit with a flashback of Thomas and I singing along loudly to the song on the way back from the airport. Thomas seems to notice too since he quickly turns the station and his grip on the wheel tightens making his knuckles turn white. I stiffen as well and Jake shifts uncomfortably in his seat. Penny, oblivious to the fact that the awkward level just elevated continues to hum the new song, shrugging off the song change.

Finally we arrive at the carnival and I can't help but get a little excited. There's people everywhere, the majority of them holding prizes of stuffed animals or a treat like cotton candy or popcorn. I remember going to the CNE or Canadian National Exhibition with my family back in Toronto. We would go every year at the end of the summer and it's the one bonding moment I have all year with Jake besides holidays. I catch Jakes eye and I know he's thinking the same thing when he grins widely.

We climb out of the car and head towards the entrance of the carnival. Apparently tickets are hard to come by so hopefully it won't be too busy. We meet up with the rest of the people in our scavenger hunt group. Thomas walks always from us almost immediately to talk to a boy with glasses. Jake also walked away to a group of girls wanting to keep his "cool guy" rep. People are pathetic.
