Previously On Far Away:
Chloe and Jake took a plane from Canada to London on an exchange program. Chloe was forced on the trip by her parents to look after her brother and is full of regrets of agreeing to come when she sees a gorgeous boy with an accent that Jake starts to annoy.
And That's What You Missed On Far Away.
----------------------------------------------I follow behind Jake who has taken it upon himself to annoy the gorgeous boy to no end. Why Jake, why?
"Jake just leave him alone. He probably doesn't want to hear about mr. Snuffles anyways." I roll my eyes at my younger brother who is acting like he is 4, not 14.
"No it's fine. I don't mind." The gorgeous boy gives me a small smile and continues to listen to my brothers stupid story about his pet hamster that ran away. Let me just say this, you know you have problems when your hamster runs away from you.
We get to a black car and the gorgeous boy pops open the trunk. I start to load the luggage into the back but the boy stops me, placing his hand over mine and gently lowering the heavy suitcase to the ground.
"It's alright love, I got it." The boy assures me, making my heart melt once again from that accent of his. Why are British accents so goddamned hot?
Instead of responding I blush and climb into the front seat, Jake was already sitting the the back, playing the same game he was playing on the plane. I honestly don't believe it myself when I hear his age.
Finished loading the bags, the gorgeous boy (to whom I've realized I don't yet know the name of) climbs into the seat to my left and starts the car. "Oh umm sorry I never asked. What's your name?"
"Thomas. Thomas Brodie-Sangster. You're Chloe right? I mean you aren't Jake..that would just be weird..." He trails off, face flushed with embarrassment.
"Yea. That's me. Chloe. Chloe is me." I literally face-palmed at my own words. Thomas just smiled and started driving off, away from the airport.
"My mom would be here but she couldn't make it. She asked me to come and fetch you two instead. You'll both be living at my place for the first 3 months. Then, I'll be coming with you back to Canada for the last 3 months." He says, confirming my thoughts.
"Okay. Sounds great." I give him a wide smile. He nods and the conversation ends there.
I watch out the window as I see people and cars hustling about. I've never been to London before, but I've always wanted to come. But I definitely didn't want to come to watch after my stupid brother.
Thomas turns on the radio and 'shake it off' by Taylor Swift comes on. My brother lets out a loud groan. He hates this song. I, on the other hand, don't mind it. And yes, I've been caught singing to it at the top of my lungs when I'm alone. But don't we all?
"At least that's what people say!" I look over to see Thomas, sining along to the song like there's no tomorrow. I stifle a laugh and decide to join in. Our horrible singing seems to make the song ten times better and enjoyable. Together, we torment my brother and have an amazing time.
When the song ends I give Thomas and incredulous look, "wow, I didn't expect that from you."
"You probably won't expect lots of things from me." He just smiles back. I smile too, unsure of what he means.
------------------
"We're here!" Thomas says, pulling up to a driveway.
His house looks cozy. It's has two floors and a large front and back yard. The house itself has a black roof and red bricked walls. It looks so warm and welcoming.
I climb out of the car and walk to the trunk to grab my stuff, only to find the trunk empty. I look around and see Thomas and Jake waiting for me on the porch. I smile up at Thomas and follow them up the wooden porch steps.
Thomas takes out his keys and unlocks the door with a swift 'click'. The door starts to slowly slide open when Jake pushes his way into the house. I roll my eyes and follow him inside.
The entrance way to his house was a long hallway with stairs going up on one side and doors on the other. On either side of the door were racks and shelves for shoes and coats.
"Follow me, I'll give you a tour." Thomas says with a wave of his hand. I turn to find my brother but he has already ran off to follow Thomas.
I sin and hurry after them. "This is the kitchen," Thomas gestures around the dark-blue walled room with stainless steel appliances and dark brown cupboards. "And this is the living room" the living room consists of one white couch, blue chair and brown walls. The couch and chair is facing a large, flat screened TV.
We follow Thomas as he shows us the downstairs bathroom (blue walled, white appliances) and he door to the backyard. Then we follow him upstairs. The upstairs hallway is the same as downstairs, lined with white doors. Thomas leads us into the first room.
"This is your room Chloe. Jake will be staying with me across the hall. Beside us is my parents room and at the end of the hall is the upstairs washroom. I'll let you get settled." Then he closed the door.
I look around the room. It has dark grey walls with white furniture that has pink accents. Against the far wall and large window is a white daybed with a pink duvet cover and pillow. To my left is a white dresser with a pink lamp. And finally on the wall beside me is a mirrored closet with lots of space inside.
I smile. This is going to be perfect.
