Previously On Far Away:
Chloe and Thomas sang to the song 'shake it off ' while annoying Jake in the back. Jake and Chloe both got their rooms but Jake has to share with Thomas and Chloe feels bad for Thomas.
And That's What You Missed On Far Away.----------------------------------------------
Last night nothing much happened beside Jake annoying Thomas and his poor family to death. They try to pretend like they don't mind but I know that anyone who lives with my brother grows a love-hate relationship with him. That's just how it is.
Anyways, we didn't stay up too late since tomorrow we (Thomas, Jake and I) all have school in the morning. I fell asleep the moment my head hit the pillow but something tells me that Jake kept Thomas up by talking.
Now here I am, standing in front of the large mirror, unsure of what to wear. My temporary room is a mess from my clothing strewn out over the floor. I swear I'm such a teenager sometime. Finally, I decide on black leggings and a large burgundy vans sweater. I apply a little mascara and clean up my mess.
In the kitchen I see Thomas and Jake, both eating front loops cereal. I smile at the both as a greeting and sit down across from Thomas. "Morning!" He says, cheerfully. I just grunt in reply. I am nota morning person.
"So Thomas are there hot girls at the school?" Jake asks eagerly.
"Uhhh.." Thomas glances at me and smiles "sure? But they don't like immature 6 year olds."
I laugh so hard that milk comes out of my nose. Thoroughly embarrassed I run to the washroom and clean up, still unable to get rid of the laughter. When I get back to the table I realize that Thomas has preformed a miracle. He has made Jake shut up.
"Okay kids lets go!" Thomas's dad, Mark says to us. Thomas's mom had already left for work. I grab my navy blue jansport bag and put on my beige uggs before following Jake out the door and towards the car we rode in last night.
Jake, being the immature 6 year old that he is, called shotgun the moment he realized he would have to be stuck in the back seat with me. Thomas just shrugged and climbed into the seat beside me. The whole ride to school Thomas and I talked about random things and I found myself falling for him even more.
I learned that Thomas is popular at school. His best friend, Dylan, is the captain of the football team and gets invited to all the parties. So, naturally, Dylan brings Thomas along, making Thomas popular himself.
I tell Thomas that at my school I'm the opposite of popular. I'm considered a 'bookworm' with only a couple of friends and an obsession over fictional characters. I tell him how Im often bullied and laughed at for it. Thomas doesn't say anything. He just sits and listens, not judging or making fun of me in anyway. It feels nice.
Mark pulls the car up into the schools parking lot and Jake, Thomas and I all climb out. Nervous, I look at Thomas who gives me a reassuring nod, followed by a smile. "Come, I'll introduce you to Dylan and the others." He says.
"I'm not sure if that's a good idea.." I start but Thomas grabs my hand and pulls me towards a big group of people who I assume are the popular people, not just because that's what Thomas told me but also by the fact that the guys are throwing each other footballs and the girls are wearing skirts that show off way too much body.
"Hey Dyl!" Thomas says to a hot boy with dark hair and eyes. His nose is perfect, slightly turning up at the tip. And he is surrounded by girls.
"Oh hey Tom!" Dylan says. Then he spots me. "Who's the chick?"
"The 'chick' has a name." I say, clearly annoyed. This is why I hate popular people, they always think they're better than others.
Dylan throws his hands up in mock defense "woah, sorry!" He says and winks, "what's your name then?"
"This is Chloe," Thomas says, giving my hand a slight squeeze. I forgot he was holding it. Dylan seems to have noticed too because he raises his eyebrows and inclines his head towards our interlocked fingers. Immediately I let go, feeling my own cheeks go red, cursing myself for my nervousness.
"So you moved here eh?" Says Dylan with a slight smile at my blush.
"Nope. I'm here on an exchange program. Well I was forced to come because my brother......." I trail off, realizing Jake is no longer with us. "Jake?" I say, scanning the area "Thomas, where's Jake?"
Thomas looks around too and shrugs "I'm sure he's fine. Your brother can handle things himself."
"Have you met him!" I half laugh, half shout. "Jake!"
"Oh shut it Chloe! I'm fine!" I turn around to see the cool-boy Jake surrounded by a crowd of the popular girls and boys. Of course.
Dylan laughs, "well it was nice meeting you, Chloe." He winks and heads to a tall blonde girls just as the bell rings.
Great way to start your 3 months Chloe, just great.
