She looks at her reflection in the mirror
Not recognizing the person staring back.
As she stares, it starts to become clearer
That depression is starting to attack.
She cries herself to sleep at night
Wondering why things have to be this way.
Deep in her mind, she's in a fight
That's tearing her apart day by day.
She wakes up every morning with a frown
One that sticks for quite a while.
It can't go away - her life is upside down
And it's impossible for her to smile.
She dreams of a much better life
Like the one she once knew so well.
As much as she would like to end this strife
She's trapped inside of a fiery hell.
She hears the voices speaking in her mind
Recalling the memories that now seem grim.
The words they speak aren't very kind
But that's because they're all about him.
She takes a stroll down a lonely path
With no one standing by her side.
Her isolation is a part of the wicked aftermath
Of the battle she is fighting deep inside.
She feels the hole inside her heart
Growing bigger as the days go on.
The vacant space that has festered since the start
Was once filled with love that's now long gone.
She tells the world that she's okay
Although deep down she knows that's all a lie.
Her choice is to get back up so she can stay
To say a bright hello instead of a dark goodbye.

There you have it. The saddest poem I have ever written.
It honestly felt good to write this poem. I let out a lot of emotions and it was almost like I was talking about my story without actually giving away details.
I can say this truthfully and mean it 100% - I will be okay.
It will be a long road, but I'll get better. I would like to once again thank all of you for your support. Hopefully in the future, I'll be able to write a poem about something else. This is probably getting repetitive, haha.
P.S. - This book was also updated yesterday. The other poem is called "The Team I Used to Know". Check it out if you haven't done so already. (It's a lot shorter than this poem.)
