His Pain

The pain you suffer through day by day

Is something that refuses to fade away.

From the tears that fall to the words you speak

The hole in your heart continues to make you weak.

Here I am, watching you during your darkest time

As depression steals all hope like it's a crime.

What happened to the happiness you brought to me?

Is it now gone for all eternity?

I was once in your shoes and feeling blue

Until you came and knew exactly what to do.

You'll soon get better and this pain will pass

This heartache of yours won't forever last.

I'll be here for you until your skies turn bright

Until I'm sure that everything has become alright.

There is absolutely nothing worse than watching someone you love to the bottom of your heart go through a dark time. It's incredibly depressing. But staying with that person - even though you feel as if all of your help is completely useless - can truly make a difference. It sucks to not be able to help with their situation, but it's something we all have dealt with or will deal with.

It's a lesson I have learned. Someone that means the world to me is going through quite a bit right now, but all I can do is stand by him and help him as much as possible. He says it means the world to him and that it helps, and that makes me feel good inside.

Anyway, that's what the poem is all about. The picture I attached is an actual part of our conversation today. Obviously the name has been cut out and other parts.
