For Him

A beautiful person, both inside and out

One that will never escape my mind

Someone like you in this lonely world

Seems to be almost impossible to find.

You were different from any person I knew

Coming from a life of hell and lies

The way you smiled regardless of your past

Was shown through the sparkle in your bright blue eyes.

Inside your mind were many bloody battles

Some that tore you apart day by day

When times were tough, you held on and stood strong

Without letting a vivid life slip away.

The last day I saw you was a day of smiles

A day that brought love into my heart

Two months away, without seeing your face

For the whole summer that tore our bond apart.

I will never say that I regret our love

Or having you to call my best friend

With you, I had the time of my life

But like all good things, it came to an end.

She stormed into your life and wanted you back

Without caring about you and I

She forced you to pick between one of us

And that night, you told me a rough goodbye.

The words you spoke that cut like sharp knives

Have left many deep wounds and scars

But with a few stitches to patch them up

Soon I'll be shooting straight for the stars.

This painful heartbreak and hell I've suffered through

Made me realize my many mistakes

Sometimes we take those we love for granted

Only to survive the consequences of heartache.

Somewhere out there is someone just for me

Who can sew my heart back just like new

It might take a while, but it's worth the wait

To find someone who cares for me more than you.

Until that day, I'll be in a million pieces

Like glass thrown straight to the ground

I'll never be the same, but I'll get better

And the stronger part of me will soon be found.

If you ever read this poem, my ex best friend

I hope these words describe all my pain

No one should ever have to deal with this

The damage you have done is hard to explain.

There isn't much to say about this poem. Except one thing: writing this made me cry.

I'm broken, but I will be healed.

Until then,
