Derek and the others saw the light disappear. They approached where it had gone out cautiously.

They came up to the ditch and Derek lowered his gun.

"Split up?"

"We'll follow it going this way you take that way," Rossi motioned JJ to home with him," If you find them radio in."

Derek moved along quietly. He watched for the light. He walked for while. Then heard a gun shot.

Derek ran in the general direction of the sound.

He found a cave and walked into it slowly. He could see a light in the distance cave.

"Hey. Hey can you hear me?" A girl said.

Derek walked into the end of the cave. A man Derek assumed was Jasper was lying prone on the ground a bullet hole in his chest.

On the far side of the cavern a woman was lying on the ground and Anica Farmer was sitting over her taking her pulse.

Then she moved back and ripped the bottom of her shirt. She started tying a tourniquet.

"I need and EMT three miles Southeast of brick wood road." Derek radioed into his talkie.

Anica suddenly turned around and Derek had a gun pointed at him.

"Anica." He said, putting his hands up.

"Agent Morgan!" She lowered her .380, "Don't sneak up on me like that!"

"I'm sorry. What happened?"

"I went to visit Jasper because he sounded like your profile..... I didn't want him to be.... But I may have stumbled on his ear collection and he wasn't to happy so he dragged me out here." Anica glanced at the body, "then I shot him."

From what she said Derek could tell she was in shock. Her blood was rushing and she was pretending like she was okay, but she really wasn't.

"Anica. The ambulance is on its way. You can relax. It's over."

"But she's bleeding out." Anica went back to trying the tourniquet.

"Anica." Derek went and took the woman's pulse. She was alive and stable, "Anica she'll be okay."

Anica sat back and started at the wall. Her hands sat in her lap still holding her gun.

Derek went over and took the gun out of her hands. Her then wrapped her in his arms. He told himself that he was just comforting a victim but it was more than that.

He just wasn't ready to admit that to himself yet.

Anica cried until the EMTs showed up. They took the other victim.

"Does she need medical assistance?" One of the EMTs asked.

"No."

The EMTs took the other victim away.

Derek stood up and helped Anica up. They walked probably three feet before Anica fell down with a yelp.

"What's wrong?" Derek bent down.

"I just sprained my ankle earlier." Anica tried to stand up and stumbled, "it just got stif when I wasn't moving."

Derek looked at her ankle.

"It's broken."

"Your kidding!" Anica was seeming to feel better.

"No. It's defiantly broken." Derek bent down and picked Anica up bridal style.

"Ahh...... " Anica blank spaced, "I'm good I can walk."

"No you can't." Derek said.

"No. No. I'm pretty sure I can."

"Ani. Do you not like me that much?"

Anica shut up. She had no idea what to say.

"No! I like you..." Anica said quietly. Then she spoke up," I don't like being carried."

"Well that's too bad cause you can't walk." Derek smiled.

Anica shut up and put up with it. By the time they made it to the road Ancia had fallen asleep.
