Crown Breaker

Hi.

Shit. Been a while. 

Some of you may know that I had been working on an original story for a while a few years ago. I attempted going down the route of traditional publication but it just wasn't right for the market, I suppose. I contemplated self-publishing on Amazon and one day I think I will. But publishing for income and organising all the extra pieces that comes along with that is too much for me right now. 

But I didn't want what was literally months and months of hard work, re-writing, self-loathing and devotion to be stuck in an old file that I don't look at anymore. So I've decided that it would be you guys that should have it. To love or hate it, I don't care. But do something with it.

Here's the pitch :)

The Tainted are hunted.

The Rift, a deadly ring of smoke that has enclosed the island of Ardon for the past three centuries, prevents Farren from returning to a home she's never known. Already an outcast by blood, it doesn't help that she has a power she barely has a grasp on and Riven—her only Tainted companion—wants nothing to do with her. So when a prince claiming to be from Ardon approaches them with a task and promise, she doesn't care what she has to sacrifice to find her place in the world.

Steffon, a fae prince scarred with secrets vies for the throne against his brother, the Reaper and creator of the Rift. To reforge the broken crown and claim his position on the throne—and protect the world from his brother—he enlists Farren and Riven's help in exchange for passage back to Ardon and enough gold to set them on a new path. But this task intensifies the rivalry between the brothers and the lengths he'll go to in order to win have no end.

Her strained relationship with Riven worsens when they have conflicting ideas about the future and she is faced with an unfamiliar world in Ardon that challenges everything she thought she knew. Tangled in a web of politics, her ability to navigate truth from lie is tested. Especially when she meets Steffon's brother.

CROWN BREAKER is a Young Adult, Fantasy-Romance novel of 107,000 words about a girl who will take desperate measures to belong and is thrust into a position to dictate the fate of an entire realm. Inspired by my childhood favourites like Stardust and elements from fantasy novels such as The Cruel Prince, this story is a character-driven adventure with swords, deceit and love.

While it has been under multiple editing rounds, they were only done by my eyes so there will be minor mistakes. It is, obviously, written to completion. Multiple chapters will be uploaded weekly.
