Chapter 5 - Karaoke Night
After Music, I hurriedly went to my dorm. I didn't even turn around to say good bye to 'Ferre and Jehan. I guess they already knew that I was feeling down. So they didn't ask me what's wrong. These boys are too close to me that they had probably memorized my body language.
When I entered the room, Gavroche and Courfeyrac were already there. From the looks of it, I think Courf is helping Gavroche with his homework. I sighed out loud, for them to notice my presence. I rarely demand attention, but this time, I just need someone to talk to. And usually, my brother and Courfeyrac could pull me up from my down times. As expected, they looked up from whatever they were doing and Courf, being a gentleman, walked over to me and gave me a small hug. Gavroche wasn't happy upon seeing Courf and I hugging. I could tell because he made his way to us and started to tug at Courf's arm.
"Let go of my sister, Courf.", he said.
I laughed slightly, "Yeah. You better let me go, Courf. You wouldn't want little Gavroche to kick you at the shins."
I nearly guffawed at Courf's reaction. His pupils dilated and he went all stiff just by thinking of it, "Right Ponine. So, do you want to talk about your current situation?"
I looked at him and rolled my eyes, "Seriously Courf? When did I ever open up to you?"
The boys smirked and went on with their work. I sighed and walked my way to the refrigerator and grabbed a bar of chocolate. Preferably, Hershey's Cookies and Cream. The boys know that I'm completely attached to this chocolate. There was a time that I said to the boys, "I don't need a man. I need freaking chocolates." And again, WAS. Someone obviously came crashing into my life and destroyed that saying of mine. I salute the guy.
My phone beeped, a new message from Grantaire.
Ep, is the deal about the Karaoke night still on? 'Ferre and Prou-Prou told me you were feeling down. Do you want me to come over?
- R
I smiled despite myself, this smile didn't go unnoticed by the Gav and Courf though, I started to hear catcalls again.
I replied to Grantaire's text.
It's still on. You can come over. Courf and Gav are here.

"Oooh. Eppy's smiling while texting. This is news!", Courfeyrac said while snapping a picture of me while I'm there, texting. Gavroche's laughter rang out at the room, loud and clear. I can't believe I was even in a sour mood before. These guys are just...aah. I wouldn't trade them for the world.

Soon enough, Grantaire arrived at our room and believe it or not, Courf hurriedly finished helping Gav with his homework within just 15 minutes, give or take. I had already finished my assignments while waiting for R. So, I have no problem now. Well, except for one.
We were already sitting in front of the plasma tv, about to start the karaoke session, and my mind went, "WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO SING? WHAT?"
Courfeyrac started with an All Time Low song. I glared at him while he sang. This guy obviously rummaged through my mp3 player and chose a song that I was extremely familiar with. He handed me the extra mic.
"What am I supposed to do?", I questioned him.
"Dude, back up vocals. What do you expect?", he countered.
Oh right. Back up vocals.
The song was a pop/punk one, so Gavroche didn't quite like it. He kept on bugging me, "Sissy, why do you like this song? This is so hardcore."
