That spring was filled with laughter and warmth, Aldwin and I became the best of friends, but at the end of the day I would always wonder if he would abandon me too... Then, before we knew it summer would come and go too.

We met up at the willows by the lake, the place where we had first met, every morning. Packing food, water and our coats we would go on adventures in the woods or the hills that lay just an hours walk away. Almost everyday was spent together. To me there was no other person in the world as amazing as Aldwin. No matter how frightening or dangerous some of our adventures were he would always wear that smile of his. He knew all sorts of things about plants and animals, it was amazing! There were so many things he told me that I had never ever heard before. Things like the meanings of flowers, where we could finds certain types of birds, and the tastiest berries that wouldn't kill us. These were days I would treasure. I forgot that all good things must come to an end eventually...

It was a regular morning. We were in a lush green riverbank down stream from the lake. Willow trees lined the sides add created a shelter from the beating summer sun, little pastel coloured flowers were scattered about.
"Hey Rena, I wanted to talk to you about something..." Aldwin spoke with a sheepish look on his face.
"Oh? What is it? Is everything alright?"
"Well... My family is leaving to return to the capital-" He said this quietly,"but I promise that I'll come back, no matter what, I'll come back and I'll take you with me. We could live in the capital together and we could hangout everyday! I promise, cross my heart and hope to die!"
"Isn't that a bit much? You don't have to go through so much trouble for someone like me..." I mumbled, blushing profusely. In my mind I really wanted him to come and take me away with him.
"What do you mean!? Your one of my most precious people! There is no way I would leave you like that! I would love to bring you with me right now, but my parents haven't even met you yet..." Leaning forward, he wrapped me in his warm embrace. "Just promise that you'll wait for me..." His words were muffled by my hair. I teared up knowing that there was no way he would abandon me.
"I promise, I promise that I'll wait, no matter how long it takes."Letting go of me he began to dig in his pockets.
"This is for you..." He smiled blushing slightly as he placed a hair pin in my hand. "It's an aster tartaricus, they mean 'I won't forget you'."
"It's so pretty! I wish I would've brought something with me..."
"Being able to spend such wonderful times with you is more than enough for me. I just hope that, even when I'm not around, you will be happy and smiling..."
"I will treasure this always, thank you Aldwin... Thank you for everything you've done for me."
"Don't worry about losing all contact with me because I'll be sure to try to write letters to you as often as possible, but it does take a few days to get them here and back..."
"I'll just have to write them in advance. If possible let's pick a spot to relay our letters. I don't really want my caretaker to confiscate your letters before I can read them." I truly don't trust my servants anymore, I haven't interacted with this servant much in the first place what they would do with the letters is unpredictable. I know in my heart that they'll just leave me in the end, unlike Aldwin...
"How about the hollow tree a little to the north of here?"
"Yeah! It's the perfect place, we just need to add a chest of some sort to keep the paper in good condition and some twigs and leaves to hide it from prying eyes!"
"Well then let's get started!"

Gathering the needed materials we needed, we spent our last day together building our hidden mail box. The sky was a mix of pink and orange hues when Aldwin finally had to go.
"Looks like I have to go soon... I have to finish packing before we depart tonight." Aldwin said looking in the direction of his residence.
"Well I guess this is goodbye..."
"Don't worry, it's not going to be forever. Just remember that I will come back for you someday."
"I will, and you should remember that I'll be waiting for that day"
"Of course..." He smiled before kissing my cheek. I blushed, surprised by his actions. Running, he called back to me, "I can't wait to see you when we're older!" I knew I would have to wait a long time, but that doesn't matter because I believe that he'll return for me someday.

I would wait forever if it's you...

AN:That's all for this week~ Sorry the chapters are so short~! When I write the main story, I won't assign each chapter a title so that I can make them longer~ I'm currently working on chapter 5, but it's so short and I have to figure out how to lengthen it some more without making it boring~ I haven't also haven't been able to plan out an illustration for chapter 4 yet so that's a problem~ Oh and I have the chapters for the red spider lily and rose up in my flower symbolism guide~!
