I rolled over further tangling the soft blankets around me. My eyes opened taking in the room blearily. I had such a nice dream, but it was already quickly fading in my mind. I rubbed my eyes wiping away the sleep. Sitting up I surveyed the room, taking a few minutes to process the fact that I was no longer in the home I had grown up in. I sat up and pulled back the blanket, I swung my feet over the side of the bed and placed them on the soft carpet. I walked to the window, pulling back the curtains to reveal the orange-gold hue of the rising sun.
I pulled a book from the shelf and sat down on the window seat. Flipping through the pages, I turned to the placed I had left off and removed the dried anemone leaf.

The sun was up before I knew it and a knock was heard from the door.
"Come in." I called as I glanced up from my book. The door opened and Mera entered.
"Have you been up long?"
"I suppose."
"Would you like to go anywhere before breakfast?"
"Hmmmm... I'm content just staying here and reading for now. Is breakfast soon, if so I should get changed, shouldn't I?"
"Breakfast won't be too long from now, so I do suggest you get changed now." She opened the wardrobe, pulling out a burgundy and cream coloured dress.

I could hear the bell toll from my seat at the window. I placed the leaf in between the pages and gently placed the book on the seat. Mera and I walked the halls, sun shine dancing through the large windows. The click clack of our shoes on the floor resounded in the empty halls, I looked around hoping to memorize the way from my room to the dining hall. It wasn't long before we reached the doors. Mera bowed and left swiftly, I entered closing the door quietly behind me.

Breakfast wasn't anything too special, the food was simple and delicious. I chatted with my siblings and finished fairly quick. Pushing my chair back I left the dining hall and decided to wander around a bit to see if I could find Mera. The halls stretched out before me, I decided to turn left and head down another hall. I could see light shining from a door that had been left ajar. I pulled the handle and exited into the garden. I remember passing by the door on my tour the day before. I know that my room was on the floor above not far from here, I could see the garden from there and had wanted to at least check it out.

The grass was neatly trimmed and shined a vibrant green, There were many fruit bearing trees and bushes scattered about. I cautiously walked through the greenery, being careful not to trample anything. I scanned the windows above, looking for the window to my room. If I could see it I might be able to find the way back. I noticed then that all the windows looked almost identical...

I sat down on the bench with a sigh. Maybe I should've just waited in front of the dining hall for Mera. I closed my eyes and bathed in the warmth of the sun for a moment.
"Rena! There you are! I was wondering where you had went off to." I opened my eyes.
"Oh, um, well I didn't see you around so I wanted to look around some more..."
"Next time, please tell me before you wander off by yourself. The palace is fairly large and low on staff, you wouldn't want to get lost now would you."
"Of course." I replied sheepishly.
"Do you want to go somewhere?"
"May we go back to my room? I kind of want to finish my book..."
"Okay, well, follow me."
