The Ghost Of You — My Chemical Romance

Adeline stood at the above-ground metro station. Snow was descending from the pallid colored sky, her lithe form, despite being wrapped up in layers upon layers of sweaters and a heavy winter coat was freezing cold.

It had been a week since she was released from her doctor's care, she hadn't spoken to her brother's friend since they were both yelled at for leaving the hospital room.

It felt like his vacancy in her life was a major change rather than what it was: a mere passing of ships in the night.

Adeline grabbed the ends of her coat and wrapped herself tightly in it as the metallic vehicle of transportation sped passed her to a stop. The door in front of her opened and she stepped onto it, today she had intentions of going to get coffee and visit her brother before he and his band left the city.
Of course she wouldn't be seeing Gerard. Ray would see to that.

Upset at the thought, Adeline's face dropped, her brother was worried about her health with reason. But separating her from just being friends with someone was too far in her opinion. Today she looked at the crowd on the inside of the metro car she entered like animals.
Each having heads of different beasts, and she was the only human being.

That's how they acted as well. Like animals. Some people would be bickering with each other over money or space on the car or be timid and mindful of another creature. This made her feel on edge.
So then she decided to walk onto the next car over before the rail line begins to set into motion.

Giving the door a strong yank it slid open and she embraced the empty (with the exception of a few men) silence and eyed an open seat. But Adeline paused, looking at one in particular who stood with his back to her; he had ebony hair and stood at five feet, nine inches like someone she knew all too well.

She smiled a toothy grin, a spark of light illuminating her eyes with excitement “Gerard?” the girl asked feeling the vacancy in her chest slowly fill back up again.

The man turned to face her, his expression confused and very different from the singer's. Then the wholeness was gone, a gaping hole between her lungs was there again “Who?” he asked curiously “I...” she began go speak “...I mistook you for someone else... I'm sorry.” she resigned as she hurried to her seat.

At the coffee shop she waited in a long line only to not think of what to order but what the band was doing at that point in time. In particular the lead singer. When she came back to earth it was only because the line was being held up while she daydreamed away

“Ms., what do you want?” the batrista prods “What who wants?” she asked, blinking to ground herself “To order. What would you like?” they asked, slightly agitated.
“Ah. Um. I'll have, uh...” Adeline laughed with reverence to them “Sorry. I'll have one of those...”
What was it called again?’ she frowned ‘A vanilla... soy... something.’
Do you have anything with vanilla or soy.”
“We have something with both?” they suggested “Um. Yeah! Okay!” she responded “That would be..?”
“Vanilla soy latte.” the barista replied running fingers through their hair as they typed in the order in “These must be pretty popular.” he mused aloud “How do you mean..?” raising a curious brow Adeline pried “Oh, well, some guy came in ordering like... Five just before you.”

She widened her eyes in surprise “Like, five..? As in... People?”

What a silly question.

The barista nodded, confirming “Yeah. He left in a rush to get to the metro.”
Adeline disregarded other commentary past that “Wait- what was his name? Did you have it by chance?” her hands slapped the counter between them “Whoa- oka- uh..” they nearly jumped out of their skin at her question, but had pity rather than yell because they noticed her shaking “His name was... I don't remember exactly, it started with a G.” they shrugged.
